"Yeah? How are things going with you two? I mean, I know things are good, but how was London and all?" She asks.
"I met his parents." I smile.
"What?!"
In the two weeks that I have been back from London, Nora has spent the majority of the time at Beck's or at work and we've barely seen each other in passing. It's nice to be finally be able to catch her up on everything.
"I was so incredibly nervous, but...it felt like home. His mum hugged me and it just felt right. Like I had known her forever. It was the best week."
"I hope you know how happy I am for you." Nora smiles, moving to hug me and lay her head on my shoulder.
"Thank you." I sigh, laying my head on top of hers. "I keep feeling like i'm about to wake up from the dream. It's too good to be true for me."
"Evie you've got to be joking. It's not too good. You deserve all of this happiness and more." She squeezes my shoulders. "And one day I hope between me and Niall we can convince you that Jaxon's issues are not your fault and it wasn't your fault that he ended things."
"I know you're right." I shrug. "I'm just the happiest i've been in as long as I can remember, and it scares me because I don't want to feel hurt again."
"Niall's not going anywhere. And you're not going anywhere. You deserve to be the happiest you've ever been, every morning when you wake up."
"I'm trying."
"I know you are." Nora giggles.
"He asked me to go on tour with him too."
"Finally!" Nora squeals. "When?"
"We're setting dates after the new year, but most likely next fall." I explain.
"Well... I guess you won't miss me being at the house then?" Nora asks, wincing as the realization hits me.
"What?!"
"Um...This wasn't how I was going to bring it up, but..." She playfully winces, but her smile is spread widely across her face.
"Beck asked you to move in with him?" I smile at her.
"Something like that." She giggles.
He makes her happy. He brings out a side of her that I've never seen. He loves her more than I've ever seen him love anyone or anything. He looks at her like she hung the stars. I'm so happy for them.
"I'm so happy for ya, babe!" I wrap her in my arms, tightly hugging her.
"You're not upset i'm moving out are you?"
"No, of course not! Nora, i've lived on my own for a year while you were gone. It's been great to have you back for the short time that I have. I mean you've been gone part of the time, and I've been gone half of the time...but it was nice to be just us again. But I think things are changing for both of us..." I smile.
"And I don't think that's a bad thing." She smiles back.
"I have to admit, I think it's actually a pretty good thing for once." I shrug, knowing it's not like me to put aside my fears and admit to seeing the brighter side of things.
"Remind me to thank that boyfriend of yours." Nora laughs. She stands up and brushes the dust off of her jeans before reaching her hand down to me to help me up.
"For what?"
"For somehow convincing you to see the bright side and actually dream again."
