“...” Chuuya stays like that for a little while before muttering something, then sighing and saying, “Well, guess it can't be helped. Those guys are annoying… that's not what I meant to talk about…” He simply continues hugging Dazai for a moment before speaking again. “Have you ever thought about what it would be like to be in a normal family? Like, one that's not super rich and famous for it.”
“The world doesn't even know I exist. Because I'm from his first marriage.” Dazai mumbles into Chuuya's hair.
“Hm… I guess that's not much different. I got broken off when I came out to my folks as possibly bi.” He muttered incredulously. He still couldn't believe it.
“So, you live alone?” Dazai asks as his phone starts going off again, the sound making him jump.
Chuuya stays silent, glancing over at the phone and then up at Dazai. “... think there might be a chance that we might pull off something if we tried to do something about that?” He means do something about Dazai's father.
“Like what? Kill him??” Dazai asks as the phone starts ringing again. The ringtone seemed to get louder each time the phone would get a call… or maybe it was just to Dazai.
“That's a bit extreme. Maybe, but I was thinking something more along the lines of doing something legally, like making him think you died or something…” Chuuya wasn't sure how they could possibly pull it off, but he had a hunch.
“Or I could empty out my secret bank account and we run away somewhere and disappear.” Dazai suggested.
“That… could work. And the last thing my sister could convince my parents of before they kicked me out was to give me a fraction of their money, since the couldn't even spend it all…” That means they had more money. This could work out after all. “Besides… there's no point in going after a dream if there's no one to be proud of you for it…” he mutters, completely to himself. Chuuya had not intended to say that out loud.
“I can control my heartbeat by will...” Dazai said quietly, almost too quiet for Chuuya to hear.
But he caught it, and muttered back a, “What does that have to do with running away…?”
“Huh?” Dazai asked, acting confused, like he hadn't said anything. His phone had finally died, and was now silent.
Chuuya had decided to ignore it for now, instead, just hugging Dazai a little bit tighter, staying silent for now.
“I'm dead if I go back home…” Dazai said before plopping down on the bed with Chuuya and laying down.
Chuuya huffed. “Stay then…” he suggested as he buried his face in the crook of other's neck.
“Mmm, I wish I could, but he'd find me.” Dazai hummed as he lightly ran his fingers up and down Chuuya's back.
Even over the shirt he had on, it sent a sudden shiver through the smaller boy's spine. “... that sucks.” Is all he says, but it almost sounds a bit breathless, as it came out with a sigh.
Dazai laid there still only in towel and kissed the top of Chuuya's head. “Why can't life ever be simple?”
“I mean… it would be if your only meaning in life was one specific thing and nothing else…” Chuuya mutters as his hand strays down slightly towards the towel subconsciously.
“True, but even then, it's not easy.” Dazai mumbled as his eyes looked down once he noticed Chuuya's wandering hand.
The smaller man then closes his eyes halfway, leaning in closer to Dazai as his hand stops right above the towel.
Dazai wraps his arms around Chuuya and held him, hoping that Chuuya wouldn't hate him for what he was going to do.
Chuuya is relaxed for once. He had been so stressed recently, and he didn't know what Dazai was planning on doing, but he did worry about him. He always worried about Dazai.
Dazai laid there listening to Chuuya's breathing. He had already set up everything including the things for Chuuya to receive once he went through with his plan.
Eventually, Chuuya was comfortable enough to fall asleep, though his brows still furrowed slightly in worry, even in his sleep.
{TRIGGER WARNING}
Dazai laid there a good hour, making sure Chuuya was asleep before slipping away and putting his phone on charge. He slipped out of the room into the second bathroom and turned the water on, creating a tub full of water, then placing the note on the sink before removing his towel and sinking into the tub. Laying his head back on the wall, he let out a sharp hiss as the cool metal went up his inner forearms on both sides, the water starting to turn a shade of red and getting dark. Dazai sat there looking around and smiling lightly before his breathing and heart seemed to stop.
Little did Chuuya know what he was about to see when he woke up and checked around the place.
