When he came to this movie screening, he hadn't anticipated that he'd be running into his crush within five minutes of his arrival. Or have her looking this ravishingly hot. Dear god! How can anybody look like that?!? He greeted her with a very enthusiastic "hi" to which she replied with a shy smile. It was really a wonder that he didn't spontaneously combust on the outside because he sure as hell was combusting on the inside.
Walking into the theater, he did a quick scan of the seats and occupants. His eyes immediately found her, almost instinctively. He couldn't believe his luck when he found the seat next to her empty. Leaving no stone unturned, he all but jogged up the stairs. Sometimes being known as the most energetic human in a room pays off. If anyone saw him running, they'd just roll their eyes at worst or laugh it off at best.
Finally he reached her. "Is this seat taken?" He asked politely, trying his best not to sound out of breath.
Her eyes lifted to look at him. Holy shit! Did his heart just skip a beat?! She smiled. Yup. It definitely skipped this beat.
"No, you can have it," she answered softly, somewhat timidly.
"Thank you," he made a mental note to thank god later for not letting his voice squeak at this moment.
Is it normal to feel your heartbeat in your teeth?? He self-consciously sniffed himself. All good. He took his breath mints out. She glanced at him from the corner of her eye, smiling with those heart-stopping dimples of hers. And his heart did stop.
"Mint?" He offered.
Her smile widened, "what? Is my breath that bad?" She teased.
"Oh no!" He replied hurriedly, mentally kicking himself. "It's just a thing," he tried to explain. "I'm a little obsessed with staying fresh," he confessed sheepishly.
She laughed, "relax. I was just teasing."
He made her laugh! He actually made her laugh! Albeit, unintentionally but who cares! He made her laugh. He grinned triumphantly as she extended her hand for a mint.
"I'm really excited about the film," he said. He needed to talk. He was too nervous and too charged up to sit still or keep quiet.
"Me too. I hope it's good," she replied.
"I love his movies. I hope to work with him someday," he told her honestly.
"Yeah, me too. Although," her mouth twisted in a self-deprecating smile, "I don't think he thinks I'm a good actor."
"That's impossible," he argued, "anyone who's seen your performances in your latest films has to admit you're a damn good performer. Playing a blind girl or a party animal that convincingly isn't an easy feat. I would even go to the extent of saying you carried those movies on your own shoulders and damn delivered. You are a natural. Those who can't see it are either biased or blind," he finished.
Her huge eyes widened even more, regarding him with utter disbelief. She took a moment to say anything and it made him squirm self consciously. "You've seen them?" Her quiet shock rattled him for some reason.
"I'm a huge fan," he grinned.
To his utter amazement, she blushed. When she looked at him again, there was an awkward glaze hiding her eyes. "So you are biased," she murmured.
Hmm, maybe he was? "No," he retorted. "It's the truth. Anyone will say the same thing."
She just smiled in return. Having nothing else to say.
Shortly after, the movie started.
He really was excited about it. Within ten minutes, he was totally engrossed in the film. His arm went to the armrest, accidentally lying on top of hers. Both their eyes snapped to each other. Did she feel it too?! At the risk of sounding idiotic, but he swore he felt a spark.
