I didn't want to submit to him. He was a hunter, my people's enemy, but if don't shift what would he do to me? I was afraid to find out.

"SHIFT!" He yelled again. This time the vein on his temple protruded and he held out one of his weapons directing it underneath my throat. "I'm not afraid to shoot your lovely face."

"Darrell, if you break it. You buy it" Fin no longer happy, glared at the man and reached for his gun lodged by the side of his pants. Unfortunately, Fin was too slow and Darrell had his other gun pointed at his direction. Eddie unarmed, now cowered in one corner, his eyes searching as if looking for a choice of action.

"SHIFT" Darrell repeated once more.

Just when I was about to do so...

"Peyton" I paused.

"Dad...?" I replied mentally.

"PEYTON!!! Where are you?!" I was so concentrated on my dad telepathically talking to be, I forgot all about the gun pointed to my face. The sound of the safety on the weapon brought me back to me situation.

"Peyton..." My dad kept repeating through my head.

"In three seconds, if you don't shift. I will blow your brains out!" Darrel pressed the gun further into my skin, it hurt.

"Dad, help me." I whispered sending him a mental picture of where I was before shifting into my wolf.

Dad's connection ended. As my Alpha and my father, he was allowed to connect with me as long as we were at a close proximity with each other. I held on to that hope. That he was here, nearby and he was going to save me. Deep inside, I was disappointed that Soren wasn't here first.

My shift wasn't as painful as the last, but it was still uncomfortable. Small amounts of wolfbane were still in my blood and it was slowing down my healing process. My bones transitioned and my fur coat protruded.

Darrel gasped with a steady laugh. "Well I'll be..." He whistled. "I've been waiting for this my whole life!" He lifted his head higher and laughed hysterically.

"I told you! I told you!" Fin laughed along with him now that the gun wasn't pointed at him. Behind him, Eddie was grinning ear to ear as well.

"Last I saw this type of Dog, it bit my grandfather's leg off right in front of me." Darrel's laughter died. His attention was back at my form, weakly laying on the dirty ground. "It seems I'm going to be able to repay what your kind did to my grandpappy."

He took hold of my muzzle. "Your head would be a great gift to him on his ninety-fifth birthday. Your fur would keep my toes warm this winter."

My eyes widened. He was going to do what now?! I had to get away from here!!!

Despite the pain I had on my legs and the effects of the wolfbane in my blood, I whipped my tail smack dab on his face and hit his eyes. It wasn't much but at least it loosened his hold on my muzzle. I shook my head and limped quickly past him.

But I didn't get far when Fin jumped on top of me holding me down with his heavy body. "You won't get nowhere with the 'mount of 'bane we put in you."

"You stupid mutt" Darrel walked right in front of me and kicked my head almost knocking Fin's head along with me. My head hummed, I almost blacked out again until my vision returned.

"Shit, you almost hit me!"

"Shut up, you'll get your money. I'll add a bonus to it since the materials good" That enough silenced Fin for a good minute.

"Want the other wolf too? She's a little torn up but, she's good quality too" Eddie offered.

"Let me see her then. Make it quick, I'm running on a busy schedule. Wrap this one up for me and bound her legs up. I don't want another accident."

"Alright then...right this way!" Eddie assured him.

"Be done when I get back" Darrel instructed Fin, who was already preparing me like purchased goods.

God, I felt so despicable. I was going to die like a pathetic display case. For the last few hours I had left I began to start recollecting my short life. Then Soren's face filled my mind.

The stupid jerk...

Tears trickled down my furry cheeks.

It was my fault for getting in this mess. I ran from him that night, to tease him and look what it got me... I just hope he's okay.

"You just made me a thousand bucks richer. Don't be moping" Fin said securing the ropes on my feet. Suddenly gun fire echoed outside the small building. "Seems like that yappy chit's dead now--good riddance, she was annoying."

Angel, you fool...look what you did to yourself.

The door opened and Eddie ran in panting. "We have to get out of here!!!" He yelled out of breath.

"WHY?"

"Wolves, a bunch of 'em. They're here attacking Darrel!"
