1: A Late Night

Sitting at the table while the rain poured outside, I gripped the cup in my hands staring at the empty seat across from me. Waiting for her arrival, minutes, hours,

I watched as people came and went. Staring down at the bag next to me that held her gift, i pressed my lips together sighing. Standing up slowly after checking the time, i threw my jacket on. Adjusting it, throwing down a few dollar bills as a tip for the waitress who pitted me

Grabbing the bag I left the coffee shop throwing my cup leaving the shop. That tedious bell ringing.

I began walking down the wet path to my 1 bedroom apartment sighing heavily

" Happy birthday Jane. Hopefully your day was good"

I mocked myself silently

I threw the bag into the nearby dumpster listening to the sound of the music box break, i stuffed my hands into my pockets. Staring at my feet as i splashed in puddles, all the rain blurring my vision. My phone rang in my pocket, i pulled it out looking at the ID

" Wonderful."

I swiped up the red dial. Ignoring her call, only for her to call again. I turned my phone off, continuing to look at the small path in front of me. People rushing by, bumping into me.

My body nearly giving out due to the cold rain, my fingers turning a shade a red. I fumbled around for my apartment keys walking up the stairs

My fingers barely having any feeling

" Im so stupid... I should've grabbed an umbrella"

I shivered. My body shaking as i walked up to my apartment, passing by neighbors. All staring at me oddly, whispering about me. Yes, tis' I the quiet odd neighbor.

I went to my apartment, my knees shaking. I barely could get my key in the hole, after forcing my hand to stay still i finally opened my door.

Yelling at myself mentally as i walked over to my Bathroom. Pulling out a towel, peeling the sticky wet and cold clothes from my skin. Turning the knob of the shower to hot, stepping inside and showering

Anger crept up my side as I showered

I held my towel around my waist. Picking up my wet clothes and throwing them in the washer I crept to my room quietly while wet footprints followed behind. I went to my dresser pulling out a pair of basketball shorts and an old worn shirt, changing. Placing the towel on the back of my door to dry, slowly walking to the bathroom to get my phone.

My phone went off like crazy after turning it on. Notifications rang through my ears while her name popped up repeatedly

All from Jane. I scoffed, unlocking my phone. Seeing how worried she was made my heart soften a bit, she apologized. Saying she slept in, which was understandable.

But rage and jealousy grew inside me, after she said Collin was sick and needed help so we cant reschedule until he's better.
Putting my phone on silent i went to the living room, sitting on the couch. Pulling the blanket over me grabbing an Xbox controller

" Might as well have a night in"

I went to hulu and put on cake wars curling up and laying down in a fetal position grabbing a throw pillow putting it between my legs adjusting myself. I laid my head in my arm curling up in the blanket, the water droplets from my wet hair leaked down my face and neck.
