Liam had the life nobody else his age had or wanted to have and when he was younger he never strived to be living like this, he lives homeless and he doesn't really know how it happened. He remembered the constant yelling, the smashing of their plates or the familiar sound of slamming doors, but Liam dealt with it because he was use to it, he would stick his headphones in and read a book but he never thought it would somehow turn out like this.

He never bothered anybody, he kept to himself even when he attended school and got pushed around, his was that typical boy with no friends, with no personality and now he guessed that came from his family background, his mother never really cared, and Liam was almost certain he was invisible in her eyes, every word that came out of his mouth never really filtered through her mind until the next morning.

When Liam turned eight his father was taken by a bunch of tall men that nowadays Liam saw as the police or emergency team and his mother was diagnosed with a disease he never really acknowledged the name of, but he was removed from school and lived out his days caring for his mother, forcing medication down her throat every two hours and hand feeding her, he never really understood the reason why he had to do this but he did so his mother wouldn't leave likes his father did.

At the age of eleven his mother died, she drowned in the bath when the home carer came to wash her and Liam always questioned what his life would be like now if she was to still be around, but because of his age he wasn't legally allowed to live on his own, so his new life we made in a Orphanage on the outskirts of London, he was that somewhat quiet kid who sat in the corner and bothered nobody.

He was put in a foster home at fifteen and was abused by the father, he never told anybody and lived on through the torment, but one day he decided instead on going home he got off the bus and ran off in the opposite direction and hid in a men's toilet for two days until he was discovered by the police and placed in family care. Family care was nearly as bad and he always wrote about his tormenting life in a tiny blue book he stole from his teacher's top drawer. And when he turned seventeen he was removed from family care and was said to be able to live freely on his own.

Unfortunately Liam was classified as a misfit in most places, he wasn't able to find a job due to his educational standards and having missed at least four years of his much needed learning years. For a small time of the year he lived in a rent free home that was rundown until it was destroyed by a house fire and he was left remaining jobless and homeless.

So Liam's life had become how it was now, homeless, he had been trying hard to find a place to work or a place to stay but the best he got was a cafe down the road for a four week trail before they told him they had no work left for him and he was thrown out. He was living in a cottage home with a couple with a family, a ten month old boy and a fifteen year old girl, Liam took up the role of babysitting until the fifteen year old girl accused him of trying to touch her in places he was forbidden to go and it concluded in his being homeless and jobless once again.

Now Liam scabs off the streets, going through bins and dump sites, finding things that are worth selling off again, he managed to get a brown cardboard box from the old man at the end of the street and now he finds a place to sit each day with his bundle of items, the items always vary, today he has a toy truck, a book about history, a teddy bear missing an eye and a yo-yo. On the front of the box with a pen he 'borrowed' from the bank he wrote 'Homeless Items' on the back he scribbled down 'unloved by one, cherished by another' and this is how Liam goes about his days.

He waits and has the usual old lady that comes and peers into the box of his treasures, and out of pity she buys something that might come of use to her. A little boys forces his mum to buy the bear and then Liam watches on as it is placed in the bin several metres away, and he finds himself tracking over and removing the cream bear from the trash and placing it back in his box, as the day progresses on the weather changes and Liam is left shielding his things with his tiny body until he slows enough for him to sit back up.

He was sitting outside the vacant shop next door to the popular apple store, in the damp and due covered grass, his hair was pressed down against his forehead and his jumper was slipping off his bare shoulder. A slightly sad purse on his lips as he waited quietly. He always waits, but Liam had learned years ago on how to be patient, he watches a teenage boy scurry past listening to music as he goes and Liam loathes for the day he can listen to one of the latest tunes.

As he was standing up to move down to the dining hall to steal himself some food and then sneak into the gym to shower, the same blonde boy from the week before wanders past, and he stops this time and peers into the half empty box before simply giving Liam a few dollars for the yo-yo, which he quietly wandered off playing with, and for a faint moment Liam smiles and clutches his box closes.

'Unloved by one, cherished by another' Liam thinks as he strolls off, to one person a yo-yo is just a piece of plastic attached to some string but to Liam it was an item like him that found the home it wanted just like he hopes he finds the right home he is needed in too.
