It felt like ages ago, when it all started. I grieve at just the thought. I was only fourteen years old.
"Local fire occurs killing two and leaving one injured."
The only family member I have left is my sister, Mali, who happened to be visiting our grandparents that weekend. But I distinctively remember the look on her face as she rushed into the hospital. Her face was a unidentified shade of red, and her breathes hitched. My head hung low. I looked at my trembling hands as my whole chest caved in. I couldn't do anything but weep, and blame myself.
"This is all my fault." I whispered. She kneeled down, looking at me, but I couldn't dare look back.
"Calum, what are you talking about?" she huffed, pushing my chin up so I could make eye contact.
"I killed them. O-our parents." I told her, breaking down some more.
She told me that this wasn't my fault, and was probably a faulty gas leak. I knew it wasn't. It was much more than that.
I had gotten in a fight with my family a few hours prior the fire. I was furious with my parents, literally wishing them dead. Ironically, that's what happened. I fell asleep with the thought of complete rage and resentment towards my family, and was awoken by the sound of flames, cackling throughout my house.
Fire
Water
Wind
Earth
It wasn't until months afterwards I learned what really was going on with me and how to control it nonetheless.
But the horrid memory will forever be implanted in my mind.

I always believed I was different. If you asked me 7 years ago if there was something truly wrong with me, I'd shrug and simply tell you I'm unique, because that's what my mother told me I was. But there had to be more than that, since I was able to comprehend things a normal eleven year old shouldn't.
"Honey, you're just really smart." My mom would assure me and my brother would tease me for being a 'nerd'
But things suddenly weren't that simple. I was sent to a doctor, when I was nearly twelve years old, my mother feared something was wrong with me. So I had a MRI scan done and it revealed that I had a brain tumor ; not a familiar one. My whole family thought I was going to die, however, I didn't. The next scan I had showed no tumor there. Living miracle right? Not even close.
Once the brain tumor left, I started to feel more different as the days went on, like my body was changing. No, it wasn't puberty, because I shouldn't allow me to do the things I do. I couldn't touch people anymore. My eyes would turn into an icy white and somehow I was able to see everything about a person. From when they took their first breathe to how their last would be.
Why I had to be extremely careful on how I controlled my emotions or hand monitions for that matter.
I was a living flight risk to everyone.
