Backstory: Wren grew up in a smaller apartment complex in New York City. Living with their older brother Logan (4 years older than Wren), Mother, and Father. Life was mostly normal for the family, both parents working to provide, and occasionally leaving them with a babysitter most months. Aside from their youngest child's odd incidents that seemed to happen every week, they hardly had a problem. Wren always struggled in school, which is when their parents decided to pull both their children out of the public schooling into an online homeschool program. Wren benefitted greatly from this, though Logan did not, being the extreme extrovert he was. At about the age of 10 is when Wren's parent's marriage started to decline, their Mother having found her Spouse to be keeping an affair with the ex babysitter of their children. She'd kept her discovery secret, though it appeared he knew, leaving the family as a whole when Wren was 11. 15 year old Logan and their Mother began taking up spare jobs to provide for the broken family. It was around this time Wren had begun to identify as non-binary. Logan was mostly supportive of his sibling, though a bit confused by the term originally. The siblings often took trips to smaller diners around the city, buying a pair of matching T-shirts with their savings whenever they could as tradition. Things were returning to normal after a few years, Logan having finished his final year of online schooling early. It was his own 17th birthday, and the pair were at home, waiting for their mother to return home from work to celebrate. Yet... she never did. She was declared missing just a day later, and the siblings, both underage, were sent to live with their mother's sister, Daia Thaumberg, and her husband Stephen Thaumberg, out of state, in Late May of 20XX. Though their Aunt was very loving and motherly to the two, it was Stephen who'd despised them since the moment they'd been sent to live with the couple. Whenever he was home, be it off of work, home from a month long business trip, or back from a month long vacation, he kept the siblings on a tight leash. He would never lash out on them around Daia, though if she were working or asleep, he wouldn't be afraid to physically harm Wren. Wren, terrified already, had tried once to overdose in a depressive episode, though Logan had happened to catch them right at the end of their act. They were rushed to the hospital, where they told the psychiatrist they'd assigned them about their Uncle's physical and psychological abuse in vivid detail. Stephen was arrested soon after, leaving the pair both in the care of their Aunt, Logan taking spare jobs to help her out, though it was hardly needed with the salary their Aunt made as a Pharmacist. Their mother was never found, presumed dead by the police and the case gone cold after 2 years. Family History: There is a long strain of psychological illness in their family, as well as a dark past of substance abuse, stemming back down 6 generations. The family business has always been in medical care, for those healthy enough to hold a career. Etc: Wren never wears shoes. Daia owns a black Great Dane named Cookie. Cookie, ironically, loves cookies. Wren often picks fights by mistake, Daia tries her best to pick them back up. Once a month Logan and Wren go find a diner to eat at together. Aunt Daia bought Wren their first binder. Wren eventually made friends, equally as odd as them. Twice a month, Daia and Logan have to lock Wren up in their room to let their feet heal from not wearing shoes. Daia allowed Wren to get their own body mods, funding it only on X-mas or their Birthday. Daia is GOTHICC Daia wanted kids, Stephen hated kids. Wren goes to parties a lot for someone with anxiety. Probably a little pressured by their friends. Wren will likely grow into mild alcoholism, due to the trait being common in their family.
