It was 5 pm, and you had just gotten out of the library after studying for your exams. The autumn leaves crunches beneath your feet as you strolled down the sidewalk.

"I'm so not ready for my Calc exam... I can't even do basic math... why does math even exist?!" You cried to nobody in particular, trying to memorize the formulas you just learned.

Suddenly, you remembered something you saw on the internet.

"If I chew on gum while studying and chew the same gum while taking the exam, I'll remember everything!!" You exclaimed, quickly rushing to the nearest convenience store.

As soon as you walked in, you could smell the fried chicken, as well as the other hot foods on display near the counter. You thought about buying some, but decided against it since you were on a diet. You were only here for gum anyways.

While browsing through the questionably wide variety of gums, you couldn't help but overhear the conversation between a customer and the cashier.

"I ain't selling this to you! I see you on the streets all the time! You're always gambling too!" The cashier, who you presumed was also the manager, yelled. "Scram!"

"Whaddaya mean?! I have money! See?!" The customer retorted, holding up a wad of cash. It was a very fat stack from what you could see.

"Money or not, I don't want business from your kind around here!" The cashier aggressively gestured for the patron to leave, practically shooing him away.

The man sighed and walked out, shoulders slumped. You felt bad for him.

You were reminded of yourself from when you constantly spent all your earnings on mobage gachas and crane games. It was an addiction that was hard to break. A very hard one. Like.... very.

As you walked to the counter to check out, you looked over to what it was the customer had wanted to buy.

'No way?! This?! You can't be serious...' You thought to yourself, getting ever so increasingly pissed.

"Excuse me sir, I'd like to buy these!" You smiled, taking out your wallet.

"Where did he go.... Ah!" You scanned the area for the customer, hoping he was still around. Luckily you found him seeking shelter from the sudden rain under an awning and ran over to him.

"Excuse me!" You called, standing next to him as he sat on the floor. He looked up at you curiously.

'Holy hell he's hot!!!' You thought, as you felt your face become warmer.

"Did ya need somethin'?" He asked, raising an eyebrow.

Suddenly you remembered you had social anxiety. It didn't help this was a totally hot stranger. Now you had anxiety x2.

"U-uhm, I— well, inside, I—" you fumbled over your words, slightly shaking. "Here!" You said in meek voice, holding out a bag to him.

"Huh? For me?!" The blue haired stranger blinked in disbelief. He gently took the bag from your hands and opened its contents. "Wha!! There's so much chicken!"

You smiled gently, seeing his excited face. Suddenly his eyes locked yours and you felt your heart skip a beat.
"I-I saw what happened earlier... uhm... I wasn't sure what flavor to get you so I just got you two of each.." you turned your face away, hoping he wouldn't notice your flustered expression.

"Ya even got me a drink too! Are you an angel?" He chuckled, causing you to turn even redder.

"No, definitely not... I'm just... uhm... I just felt it was wrong of him to shoo you away like that. A-and I like to help others anyways!" You twirled your fingers around each other, averting your gaze.

"Hmm... Hey, why don't we share this? There's a lot anyways and it'd be a shame if it went bad." He suggested, smiling up at you.

"S-sure!" Your eyes widened with excitement. As you took a seat on the floor next to him, he opened the bag and handed you a piece of chicken.

"What's your name by the way? I'm Arisugawa Dice!"

"I'm [L/N] [F/N]."

"Pleasure to meet'cha! Now let's dig in, I'm starvin'!"

The bell chimed just as you received your graded exam. You were finally free from hell! Well... until you came back at least.

You hurried down the steps to the front entrance of your Uni, and spotted a familiar face waiting for you.

"How'd ya do?!" Dice asked excitedly clenching his fists in front of him.

You sighed, looking disappointed, causing Dice to feel disappointed too.

"I ACED IT BABY!" You exclaimed suddenly, practically jumping.

"I'M PROUD OF YA!" He said, hugging you as you both awkwardly yet excitedly squirmed. "Also did ya just call me bab—"

"Shhh you didn't hear anything!" You cut him off, pretending not to be embarrassed.

"Okay!"

A/N: Oh my gosh I'm so sorry it's so short;; I'm very new to the hypmic fandom and I don't want to make things too long to start since I still have much to learn about the characters!
