After Jaxon, i'm sure their dreams for me revolved around someone stable...not someone who travels 11 months out of the year playing music for crowds of screaming girls.

Emma shows mom and dad the Instagram post with the photos of us and I watch from a distance as they studiously take in this new information.

"Is this true?" My mom says, smiling as she lets out a surprised chuckle.

I knew mom would be the first one to come around to this idea, and while I know she will have a thousand questions I also know that she is equally excited as everyone else in this scenario.

"Yes, ma'am." I nod, suddenly feeling like i'm Emma's age and I have to answer to her for all of my actions.

My dad is still dramatically quiet and before he can ask anything else I figure I should let them know that Niall is within earshot.

"Niall, I guess you can come say hello now..." I chuckle as Niall plops down on the sofa next to me with a wide smile on his face.

"Hello!" He waves. "I'm Niall, lovely to meet you both." He says politely.

My parents faces are both equally stunned as they continue to fumble for words, while Emma's face reads pure joy and she waves back at him.

"Hi I'm Emma!" She says cheerfully, and much more calmly than I expected of her.

"Nice to meet you, Emma!" Niall speaks up.

My sister is grinning from ear to ear. She's proud as punch about this entire scenario, and I can tell she's soaking this up.

"Niall, these are my parents. Dan and Charlotte Michaels." I introduce them.

"Nice to meet you as well, Niall. This is quite the surprise." My mom says with her best smile.

"Yes, forgive us.  We'd love to meet with you in person sometime and get to know you a little better." My dad says bluntly, and my mom agrees but I know she's smacking him on the knee for being so frank.

This exchange is almost comical to watch. I know they'll come around to Niall eventually, they are just understandable wary of any men in my life now.

"Of course! I would love that." Niall says.

He's really being such a sweetheart, while my parents look visibly uncomfortable. I know he's being genuine though, because that's just who he is.

"I'll talk it over with Niall and we'll figure out when we can do dinner or something." I jump into the conversation, smiling at them and then sending a loving glance Niall's direction.

"Sounds great! We are happy for you, sweetheart." My mom speaks for both of them.
