Bad Behavior

Escape? Maybe.

Alarm goes off(6am)

Alyssa stretches her arms and yawns before getting out of bed, she moves her legs right out from under the covers, puts them to the ground, and forces her body to get up. She doesn't want to get up, because, usually this time in the morning her mom is downstairs arguing with her dad over the phone. She thought for a second maybe her mom didn't wake up yet--

"No! You listen to me, you cant even take care of yourself and your 45 years old, you come to my house every night drunk out of your mind, and you think you can take care of our two children?You disgust me."- Sherry says while on the phone with Michael.

Alyssa's in the upstairs hall, when her younger brother Hunter comes out of his bedroom.

"Their always arguing. I don't get why they never think of us when they do, do you think they ever wonder what we're thinking of this?"- Hunter

"Honestly.. no, I don't think they do, all they're worried about is who'll lose in court, their not even worried about us, but I turn 18 next month meaning by the time this case actually finishes i'll already be out of the house, I just wish i could take you with me."

"Why can't you?"

"Because Hunter, it's not that easy, I'm your sister I can't just go to the judge and be like 'Hey, i'll take care of my brother instead of these two monsters' Plus if anything one of them is going to get you, i'm sorry."

"Yeah, whatever." He rolls his eyes and goes downstairs.

She follows after, She can hear her mom still arguing on the phone, so she goes to the kitchen, gets a banana. 

"Fine! Goodbye!" Sherry says as she hangs up the phone,  then walks to the kitchen. 

"Good morning." She says then kisses Alyssa on her head.

"Morning."

"Excited about your last day of school?"

"Yep."

"Remember don't pick your brother up after school, he has his dentist appointment."

"Ok."

Alyssa finishes her banana, and grabs her car keys.

"Hunter, Time to go."

"Love you."Sherry shouts while he's rushing out of there.

He grabs his bag and rushes out to the car.

Sherry's smile turn into a numb frown.

"He's just in a bad mood mom, don't take it personal."

"So, he's in a bad mood everyday?"

Alyssa looks to the floor.

"Yeah, thats what I thought."

"I have to get going, bye, love you."

Alyssa gets into the car,

"That was uncalled for Hunter."

"Why? She doesn't love us, if she did she wouldn't be putting us through this."

"I know Hunter, I know. You have to just let this thing happen, now, seatbelt."

They put on their seatbelts and she starts the car.
