The Best Present | A Christmas Story

It was the week before Christmas and we all got out of school. I have some friends in my neighborhood, and we all like to hang out at our neighborhood park. We were there one day all hanging out when one them decides we should play truth or dare. Out of all of us there he asked me.
"William, truth or dare?" he said.
I responded with dare, trying to act all cool in front of my crush, since she was there. Then he asked me. He dared me to say my crushes name out loud to everyone there. I told him I wasn't gonna do it but everyone said I had to, so I took her name and rearranged the letters a bit and decided to call her Rasha (Sarah).
Everyone was tying so hard to figure it out and kept asking me names, until she found out. She walked up to me and asked if it was her. Being the shy and 'keep to myself' guy I am, I just barely nodded my head yes. Everyone say that she had guessed right and they kept bugging us to let them know.
A little while passed and we were still playing, so I decided that we should go to the tree and just hang out there. (The tree is an old tree that is behind the pond that we sometimes climb on and talk at). So we went back there and just started talking more about how much we don't wanna have to go back to school in 2 weeks.

It was getting closer to Christmas now and I had decided to ask her if she liked me too. First, I just started talking to her and seeing what she was going. Then I decided I would ask. Her response was...YES!! I couldn't believe she liked me.
Ever since that moment we had started talking and seeing each other more.

It was the day after Christmas when I decided to ask her. I had to work up so much courage. I was so nervous on how to do it or how to ask.
I ended up texting her and asking if she still liked me. She responded with yes, which was what I was hoping for. A little bit later in the day I ended up asking her out and she said yes.
Even though it was the day after Christmas and not meant as a present, it was such a surprise for me and I'm so happy to have her in my life.
