Arvia was looking out the window of her school bus in peace until the schools bully, Shawn, came and sat down in her seat. "Hey, Killer," He said, but she just ignored him. Throughout the bus ride, she kept ignoring him until he said, "I bet your brother is just as like you, insane, a geek, outcast, and a killer."
That made her snap. She turned to him and slapped him hard. "Listen here you jerk. You can talk about me all you want, but you never talk about my brother, EVER!" She said then turned back to the window with a small smile on her face. Later that day she ran home in the rain with her best friend, Adhamh, only to find her little brother laying there with his throat slit with a note on his stomach that said:
If you don't want to end up like him, then you will kill yourself.
"We should go," Adhamh said as he pulled her out as she cried. I lost everything she thought I wish I could just die. He called a taxi and told the driver to go to Long Island Sound after they arrived he dragged her up a hill. There was a huge pine tree at the top of the hill. "Chiron," He yelled when they reached the top of the hill. Arvia could see an entire camp than a centaur came up, "What is..." His voice trailed off as he looked at Arvia, "You must be Arvia?"
She nobbed as she looked at the centaur.
"Gufo," The Centaur, she was assuming was Chiron, yelled.
"Owl," Arvia muttered when a boy with blonde hair and stormy grey eyes walked up.
"What," The boy, she was assuming was Gufo, asked confused.
"Your name translates to Owl in Italian. You can also say Hibou which is Owl in French," Arvia explained as they walked down the hill, "There are a lot of other ways to say it but I can only speak in Greek, Latin, Spanish, French, Italian, Hebrew, Hindi, and Korean."
"Wow," Gufo said.
-Time skip to dinner-
At dinner right when Arvia stepped into the dining pavilion a trident became visible above her head she stopped where she was and everyone bowed down, "All hail Arvia Williamson, Daughter of Poseidon," Chiron chanted.
