"What are you going to do man?" His father asked him gentilly with his soft voice. " Are you going to stay here with us? Or shall I send you to your uncle in Paris to study in a college there?".
Tom kept thinking for at least two minutes and indistinctly replied and mumbled: "NO!".
Dad: "What do you mean by (No!) boy?".
Tom had no clear or specific words to answer because he was physically present but his mind was totally absent. Suddenly, he clearly said: "I mean, stay with you dad".
Even a single letter went out of his dad's mouth as he was a very wise man who got plenty enough of life experiences. Meanwhile, it was a hidden test for Tom to make him responsible for his acts, words, as well as for his personal choices.
In fact, Tom didn't sleep that whole night because it was hard for him to take the right decision. Finally, he convinced his inner self that he truly wanted to stay close to his parents and family rather than to travel and study abroad. Of course, before he closed his eyes, Tom spent the dark night gazing steadily at the roof of his bedroom thinking of the right words to answer his father's next question the following day.
"Tom! Are you going to share a room with someone in the college campus or rent a private one?".
While driving on the way to the college campus, Tom was really puzzled whether to choose the public or the private!!!. It was really hard for him as it was his first time to live separately from his patents' warm house. Few miles before the college, Tom unconsciously asked his dad to stop the wheels in a private residence that looked green and spacious. Deeply inside, his dad thanked God for Tom's right choice as the residence was so closed to the college as well as secured. The first guy they met was the door keeper of the whole residence who was the all in all there. He was very kind and gentle. He was the same age of Tom's dad. Suddenly, Tom was surrounded with those warm and tender feelings of his dad. "Daddy! I loved the place. Why not live and study here?!! It looks cosy and homelike. By the way! It's so close that I can visit you every weekend."
After settling down, Tom waved his two hands saying the goodbye to his parents with the tears in his eyes. His only fear was the type of people he was going to meet there in the campus. Although TV was his only companion, the first night was really tough for Tom. The only image that was stuck in front of his eyes was the wheels of his dad's car leaving the residence slowly and peacefully.
"Don't worry my friend!" said Jasser. He was Tom's roommate. It was quite relaxing for him to share a room with a real friend from high school days.
