The Ending

"psst," i said to alyssa sitting next to me. "pass this to landon," i handed her a blue sticky note which read 'landon and adelaide.' (i'm adelaide, just so you know.)

she passed it to cheryl, who was sitting next to landon. she opened the note and read it.

"oy! don't read it, you pig!" i whisper-yelled at cheryl. she laughed, she thought it was a joke, and passed it to landon.

landon snatched the note and quickly scanned it. i could tell he was confused as much as i was when i read it. he got up from his desk and sat in the empty one next to mine.

"what's this?" landon scoffed.

"i don't know," i said.

it was a terrifying letter which reads:

"dearest adelaide and landon,

we're gonna get you, both of you: you'll see, one day, we're going to find you, and never let you go."

i have told my parents. they called police. the police looked into it, they never told us who it was.

"don't play coy, babe," landon snapped. he calls everyone babe, kinda weird, i know.

"i'm not. it's a threat letter,"

"where'd you find it?"

"my bedroom windowsill," i spat.

"when?" landon will not stop with these questions.

"yesterday night,"

(a/n: flashbacks in bold-italics)

i was about to get into my bed, when i placed my water down - my bedroom shook: knocking my glass of water off the table. then all of a sudden SWOOSH! my window was open and my curtains were flowing in the wind. i shut my window, and there lied the message.

"wow," landon said to me.

"i know,"

"okay, class! free time is over! we have to get going, it's almost lunch."

okay - since this is social studies, it takes about two hours to get through it all. yay for tenth grade. let me just fast forward.

the lunch bell rang. "that's lunch!" our teacher yelled. we grabbed our money and piled into the cafeteria.

today's lunch was spaghetti and meatballs. um. i'll pass, good thing i brought a peanut butter and jam sandwich.
