Dried up, brown leaves crunched beneath my foot as I walked. My backpack was the heaviest it's ever been, and it felt like I was carrying a dead body in it. It took all my strength-not that I had much to begin with-to stay upright as I walked. Getting more and more tired, and thinking about the long walk ahead of me, I decided to sit down on a bench that was in Mozreye Park. I ran my tongue over my dry lips as I put on the hood of my hoodie and shivered. It was getting cold now, and all I had was a t-shirt underneath my thin hoodie. But not like mother and father would do anything about that. Tears came to my already swollen, puffy eyes as I willed myself not to cry. A sudden gust of wind blew my way and my hair was whacked into my face. I started to cry. But after all, I was alone. I wasn't with anyone. I could cry, right? I was safe here. I sniffled, slightly comforted by my own words. But then, as a last tear rolled down my cheek, I felt somebody's hand on my shoulder.
"You ok, beautiful?"
I whirled around, ready to spray this stranger with the pepper spray that I always carried, but the face that I saw startled me so much that I dropped the canister.

"Wh-why are you here?"
