Summer was almost over and I was finally entering high school this year. I am just an average 14 year old girl- so I thought. "Nyla can you come here for a moment." "Yes mom", I replied.
"I have to tell you something very important- you're going to a new school." "What!" I cried. " There was an invite for you to go there," my mom explained. Suddenly I had a sinking feeling in my stomach. "It's called Roosevelt Academy, and it's a very pretty place."
I had to call my friends right away. I called my friend Carry and told her I wasn't going to be in the same school as her this year. "Yeah I'm so sorry, Carry." "Which school is it?" Carry asked. "It's called Roosevelt Academy", I replied. Carry made a sudden pause. "Y-your going t-to the "School of Blood!" "What do you mean Carry?" "Rumors are told that there was a mass murder in that school, and some say the school ceiling leaks dark red blood."
I had that sinking feeling in my stomach again. What was I going to, I can't go to a school that reeks of blood. After a while me and Carry got off the phone. I was thinking about what she had said earlier and accidentally went into a daze. I had to make this the best last week of summer ever before I go to that terrifying school. After a while of making plans for what me and my friends were going to do, I went to bed.
The next morning it was showtime, I called every friend in my contacts. I planned the best last week ever for all of us.
We were going to the movies, the park, almost everywhere in town.
It was one o'clock and all my friends were in front of the mall when I arrived. I started walking beside Carry. "Are you still worried about I said", Carry whispered. "No, not anymore", I replied. I had to lie to her because if I told the truth she would be worried about me. We went to movies and ate somewhere fancy, then everyone went home.
The second day we went to the park. "I can't wait for this school year!" Jason shouted. " Yeah, me either", I sighed. All my friends were happy about starting high school besides me. I was terrified. What if Carry was right? What if there was a mass murder or blood leaking from the ceilings? I had the sinking feeling in my stomach again from thinking of those possibilities.
It was two more days until school started. My mom already bought my new uniform for that school. I thought it was kind of cute and preppy. I started packing my bag. It turns out that I'll be staying there. Which was even more terrifying.
It was the last day, me and friends went to the mall to go shopping. Almost all of them bought me goodbye gifts. It was a very emotional time for me. I can't believe i'm actually leaving home. When I went home, I packed all the beautiful gifts my friends gave me. My mom gave me a special goodbye gift. She gave me her great- grandmother's necklace and a new phone. I was so happy she gave me these gifts.
It was time for me to leave home. Everyone was crowded around the bus that was going to be taking me to my new school. My mom was loading my bags onto the bus. After what felt like a million hugs and kisses, I got onto bus. I looked out the window as the bus started pulling off. All my friends were running and waving goodbye and then they disappeared in the background.
I layed back in my seat and relaxed. I put my earbuds in and started looking at the brochure for my new school. Mom was right, it was kind of pretty. There were many flowers and small gardens. It looked like a rich kid school, how was I possibly invited to this school.
And then I wondered- Why was I invited? I started to look out the window, and saw that we were getting closer to the school. Then we arrived, I saw a bunch of students with trumpets lined up in a row. Suddenly I saw a man with a bullet horn at the end. "Welcome students, to Roosevelt Academy!"
