The next day, word had spread fast about another attack last night. I had barely gotten into my school robes before I'd heard the news from Pansy in my dorm room; Justin Finch-Fletchley and Nearly Headless Nick were attacked last night. I was shocked, to say the least, that someone who was already dead had been attacked. I didn't think that was even possible.
The common room on this particular morning was filled with an ecstatic buzz. Everyone was talking about the attack. As I walked through to meet my friends, the one name that I picked out from every conversation I passed was 'Potter'. It was, afterall, him who spoke to the snake in parseltongue that was about to attack Finch-Fletchley, and he was apparently found next to Finch-Fletchley and Nearly Headless Nick. I can guess that Potter'll be expelled anytime now.
So I was quite annoyed to find out that he was still here at breakfast this morning.

A few weeks had passed since the last attack, the school term was coming to an end and the grounds of Hogwarts were covered with incredibly thick blankets of snow.
Thanks to the weather, certain lessons like Herbology were cancelled. During this time, I would have talks with Draco or Pansy about who we thought the Heir of Slytherin was. Sadly, no one I asked had any clue as to who it could be, not even Draco who I thought would know everything thanks to his father. He always was well informed.
Trying to find out who was actually Slytherin's Heir wasn't helped at all by Potter or any of his dumb little friends. He's lately been surrounded by every Weasel in the school at this present moment. The twins exclaiming that he's 'The Heir of Slytherin' anytime someone came near him. They seem to be the only ones to find it funny - no change from their usual 'jokes' then.

When the school term had finally ended Draco, Crabbe, Goyle and I found that we practically had the common room all to ourselves. It was rather a shock to find out that hardly any other Slytherin, aside from us, chose to stay at Hogwarts for Christmas this year - not even my brother decided to stay with me. Nevertheless, we spent most of our time messing about. Playing games like gobstones and exploding snap while also heavily talking about the attacks, the Heir of Slytherin and who we think will be next.
One of the advantages of being the only girl in my year that stayed, is that I had the dormitory all to myself, and so I had managed to spread most of my stuff around half the dormitory within the first week of the holidays.

Christmas day finally came after a few more weeks of bleak, biting weather. I found that the trunk at the end of my bed was covered with presents from my parents, ranging from very small to quite big when I awoke that morning. I opened them all in a rush. Wrapping paper had flown everywhere as I ripped each one open, excited to see what's inside. I got a new set of emerald robes with a magically detachable black cape and hood and a beautiful white brooch that had a silhouette of a woman that looked much like my mother. I had always idolized my mother so this was by far my favourite gift, I put it safely back in its box and into my trunk for safe keeping. Along with these gifts I also got quite a lot of sweets and some other gifts like colour changing ink and a small bag that could only be opened by myself.
I walked down into the common room with Saffron, who was purring calmly in my arms, to see the three boys sat on the sofas infront of the fire, Draco boasting about his new gifts as Crabbe and Goyle listened.

When I sat down with them, Draco excalimed that he must start from the beinning again and talked through the lengthy list of presents he had received. A magical broom cleaning set that keeps care of any broom by itself, a brand new, shiny wizard's chess set made of green stained glass and many other gifts of the highest value.
I was extremely exited, not only because it was Christmas and I had received presents, but due to the Christmas feast later. Even just thinking of all the food that would be presented infront of me made my mouth start to water. But for now, I pushed those thoughts to the back of my mind as the day slowly ticked along.
Draco allowed me to play a few games of Wizard's chess with him as Crabbe and Goyle swapped between watching us, and the fire. I had to admit, they do seem a bit more ... uneducated than others. I guess that's why they get along with Daphne at mealtimes.
