Dealing with the forced changes

It starts

"Hey everyone! Thank you for coming to my birthday party, I know all of you guys wanna go swimming or something else, wink wink. Anyways I just wanted you guys to know... "
People are listening to Avery talking about how thankful she is for everything. Layla just sits there, contemplating on why she's there, and then her friend sits next to her and she remembers, Oh yeah... I'm doing this for you.

"What's up girly?! Why aren't you out there mingling with the jocks or with the cheerleaders?"
"Because, that's the reason, they're jocks. And you know I don't roll that way."
"Well I dunno, Gabe over there tricked us for the longest time and we've known each other since FOR EV ER"
"Oh shut up, Em *laughs*. Ugh, can you believe her? What's up with that whole monologue, we know she doesn't care that we're here, she just cares about the presents people get her."
"Wait, are you saying you got her a present?! *gasp* you? YOU?! You, Layla Mays, got miss pretty in pink a present?"
"No, and I feel offended that you would think such a thing"

Avery came over to Emily and Kayla when she was done talking to her guests, looks Layla up and down, then walks away. "Did you see tha- look at that. That's why I didn't get her anything"
Gabe drunkenly walks over to Emily and Layla while tripping over the chairs near the pool. "*slurrily* Oh hey guys! Ts'up with you Layla, lala, lolololo" "Bleh, Gabe! Did you have to get so drunk?" "Hey, you drank as much as I did, but like, half it..." "yeah, I'm buzzed, not entirely drunk! *loudly whispers* There's a difference!" "Oh my gosh, will you guys please stop complaining? You shouldn't have drank at all Emily, you said I can and that you were gonna drive us back" "Guys, I said I'm fi-" "Yes you are" "*monotone* Oh, hi David."

"So I heard you came here cause of me." "Pff, get over yourself, Dave. Get the hint, I'm not into you anymore." As David and Emily bicker, everyone looks up at the sky. When Emily gives up arguing with David, she looks at everyone and is confused. No one is talking anymore, some concerned for their friends, others spacing out on the moon.

Emily starts getting freaked out and grabs on Layla while looking at the people in the party. "H-hey, Lay Lay.. let's get out of he-... No.. Lay Lay? I wanna go home..." "What's wrong with her? *looks over* What's wrong with all these people?!?" "I-i-i don't know, I was just arguing with David and this happened." Avery walks over to Layla, looking at what she's looking at. Her eyes are now fixated on the moon, she can't look away.
"Avery? Hey, yoohoo?? Avery??" Emily gets confused so she looks at what everyone looks at, but she doesn't zone out, she looks back and sees Gabe zoning out while in the pool.

"Oh no..."
