Making 'coincidences'

Chapter1

My vision was blurry but clear with what looked like rainbow colored air bubbles appearing from no where and continuously floating upwards in random areas. It was almost like being under water.... kinda.
There were several people around me but none could see me, every once in a while someone would unknowingly walk through me.
They were all going about there lives having no idea that someone was watching them.
Well not them actually but the daughter of a couple and the sister of several .
The main character of this vision?
Maria Carson .
"Maria grab Mia!" Yelled her mom
Maria rushed over to one of the toddlers to stop her from colouring on the furniture.
"Maria!" Screamed a teenage girl
"Can you wash my dark jeans ? I'll need them for school."
"Sure Erica.!" Maria yelled back
"After I'm done with the dishes.!"
"Maria why not have Erica do the dishes? You have enough to do."
Her mom suggested
"Erica has enough to do, she's already struggling with school I don't want to force her into anything else."
She answered as she started on the dishes.
She's too kind. I thought. It almost seems as though she's being taken advantage of.
I watched as a young child darted past me tripped on her own feet and started to fall out of instinct I reached out to grab her only for her to fall straight through my arms reminding me that I'm not really here.
"Elise." Maria shouted she quickly dried her hands and rushed over to the now crying child she pulled the child into her lap and started rocking and shushing her.
Why is she doing this? I thought , she's older than me by at least two or three years but she's still too young to be playing mom.
Where is her dad ? Is he still alive even?
As I thought that my vision rippled and blurred before it blacked out all together.
The next thing I saw nearly brought tears to my eyes, I was in her room and she was on the floor leaning against her bed her knees to her chest her arms wrapped on top and her head tipped in between, and she was sobbing.
Why was she crying ?
Is she stressed from pushing herself so hard?
My vision rippled, distorted and blacked out again.
This time I was standing in her parents room next to their bed, her mom was quietly crying and leaning over the bed where her husband was lying sickly . He was diagnosed with cancer .

I gasped as I woke up from my vision I glanced around to make sure I was where I hoped I was and not still dreaming I reached down to the foot of my bed and grabbed my  familiar a white cat named Ayu and held her to my chest for comfort. I remembered the saying my mother always used to say during hard times. "somewhere out there , there's someone who has it worse than you".
I decided to get out of bed and get ready for the day. If I went back to sleep now I'd only get more visions anyway, I've rarely gotten any sleep since I've gotten my powers.
I put Aya on my shoulder and started heading downstairs to make myself something to eat .
"Hey lavni."
"Ahhh Aron dammit do scare me like that"
I glared at Aron, my younger brother for appearing out of thin air
Aya sat up on my shoulder glaring and hissing at him .
Aron just recently had his coming of age ceremony where he discovered he could teleport.
"Sorry" he said with a shrug
"I heard you close your door and I was hoping you'd make me food"
"Sure, Alright, whatever. But only if you stop surprising me like that."
"Sorry sis I can't help it , It's in my nature.just like you can't help peeping in on people's life's. Besides it's the only thing I can do with this gift at least you can look into people past, present and possible future. You could do so much with that gift. Like seeing someone make a mistake and to help them fix it .... you know, like someone's future math test ....?"
"Cheating isn't good Aron you need to suffer on your own through math, just like I did ."
"You liar," he said
"I happen to remember this one time where you looked at Miss Leanns past and got to see the answer sheet for your test."
"It's in my nature." I joked and winked
"Also you know my gift doesn't work like that I can't see the past or future of family or those I'm close with."
I stated matter of factly
"Wait." I said as we both stepped foot into the kitchen
"Your right!"
"I'm right ? Right about what?"
He asked
I grabbed his shoulders and shook him a little .
"You said I can see into people's past and possible futures and help them!"I said excitedly
He gasped
"Does this mean you'll help me pass math?!"
I stopped for a minute and started at him like he was an idiot.
"Noooo,.... it means I can help Maria!!! I'll make sure she ends up in her best possible future I'm going to move to her town in Michigan and make sure her best future comes to pass."
I said excitedly and then I remembered a vital part to Maria's best possible future
"I got to call aunt grace."
I turned to hurry back to my room my brother following me
"Aunt grace?"
He asked
"The healer aunt grace?"
"The very one."
I said excitedly
"What could you possible need aunt grace for ?"
"To heal Maria's father of course!"
I opened my bedroom door and stepped inside
"....but? But what about breakfast?"
Aron asked before I closed the door on him
"Make it yourself!"
I yelled before grabbing my phone and dialling my aunts number Aya still on my shoulder
She picked up after three rings
"If it isn't my favorite Niece, lavni to what do I owe this great pleasure?"
She asked
So I told her.
I told her all about the hard working Maria and my Oath to make sure she follows the path for the best future and why I needed her to be apart of it .
