"October!!!" Her foster mom yelled. October stood up from her bed and hisses before dragging herself down the stairs.
"Yes" she said stopping in front of her mother.
"Hmm I want you to get something from the grocery store" her mother said and she hisses to herself in a whisper
"What do you want me to get?" She asked her voice cold. Her mother sat down on the dark blue couch and rummaged through her purse before looking at October.
"Get me some carrot and lettuce, and maybe spinach too and some onions, and maybe some chopped meat" her mother said handing her the money.
"Mum I'm a vegetarian you know" October states and her mum looks up at her.
"The way you speak to me makes me pretty mad, don't buy the meat anymore" Her mother says and she rolls her eyes
"Whatever" she says collecting the money. She walks towards the door and puts her hand on the knob.
"Wait..." She heard and brought her hand down then turned to her mother. "Take your coat it's cold outside, if you want to" her mother said and she rolls her eyes and runs up to her room, she takes her coat and her phone from the bed. She wears her coat and takes her hair out of the coat. She puts her phone in the pocket of the coat and walks out of her room then down the stairs.

The rain drops fell lightly from the roof and to the wet road. It was mostly the only sound that could be heard apart from that of the stray cats in the neighborhood scratching against the wall or bin.
She sighed putting her free hand in her coat pocket while the other held a nylon containing carrots and some spinach
As she walked, she couldn't help but notice when the sound that filled the street became that of footsteps that seemed like the owner was running.
The idiots are at it again was the first thing that came to her mind. She wasn't surprised that someone would be running down the street when it was almost past 10, her neighbour's children were stupid like that.
Always playing around, playing loud music and feeling fresh with themselves. She hated them.
"Shit..." Was the first thing that flew out her mouth when out of nowhere she is hit and sent stumbling down. The person that hit her didn't stop, when she looked up the person had been running into an alley
It was not more than a second after that she heard the loud siren that was most definitely coming from a police car
"What's going on?" She asked as though someone had been with her there. Just as she stood up and dusted herself, a police car sped past her, straight down missing the alley
"THE JERK WENT INTO THE ALLEY!" She yelled and sighed when she realised there was no hope of them even hearing her.
"I hope you get caught asshole!" She said scornfully. She was pissed no doubt. She packs the carrots and spinach then headed home.
She walked up the small flight of stairs that led to the door of her house then opened the door and walked in shutting the door behind her then she walks into the kitchen. She pours the vegetables on a tray then puts it into the fridge.
She walks up the stairs and into her brothers room.
"The veggies are in the fridge" she says as she knew her mother will be bathing her little brother Xilo. He was just 9 months and was dark, he had big black eyes and tiny pink lips that was always pouted.
October walks away to her room and takes off her coat. She hangs it and checks in the pocket for her phone but she doesn't find it "Where the hell is my fucking phone?" She yells getting frustrated.
Her mother walks in immediately. "What's wrong baby?" She asked
"I can't find my phone" October says.
"Ooo did u take it out?" She asked
"Yeah, maybe, I don't know" October says already frustrated at the questions.
"Ooo we'll check the grocery store tomorrow" she says and October looks at her.
"Okay" October says and looks away.
"Good night" Her mom says and walks away shutting the door behind her.
October was so vexed, the only thing that kept her busy was now missing.
She lays on her bed. Maybe that jerk took it, she thought to herself. Or not he just pushed me, he probably didn't take it.
