MEET THE NERD WITH A DREAM.

Her hair was the brown of aged mahogany with eyes glistening like an old copper penny. She refused to allow her imagination to die along with her peers. She was aiming for the stars.

One would find her staring at the contrasting white pixels against black as if all the URLs and fragments of code clogged the gears of her mind. TECHNOLOGY was her groom. 

Joan Merry's passion for the revolution in tech burned like a wildfire. She has spent her high school years skipping prom and becoming fluent in many coding languages. When her eyes were not being scorched by a computer screen, she would read Carl Sagan, books with titles such as Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep & 2001: A Space Odyssey. Her love for Science Fiction, the ability to give commands to computers, & science were her catalysts in her dreams. She was not one to just say "I want to do that." Joan said, "I will do that one day."

She had chosen a STEM UNIVERSITY IN HUNTSVILLE, ALABAMA ( ' rocket city ' ). Joan's life had, indeed change there. She became a social butterfly, finding peers with familiar interests as herself. She seemed to have gotten along with everyone  ( a great shock due to her butting of heads back home ).  She was happy there.

Joan Merry was ready for college life.
