"i didn't want you running through the rain and shit" edwin looked over at the girl who gave him a warm smile

"is the spawn of satan here yet?" kailani wasted no time asking edwin the question she really wanted to know

"so far just me and the boys" he shook his head opening the house door her letting kailani walk in first

"zion you're canceled" kailani tried to kick off her shoes looking at her best friend who sat on the sofa focused on whatever video game he'd become hooked too that month.

"hold on y'all what you mean?" zion took his headset off and paused his game, he quickly came over to the girl helping her get out of her rain boots that she previously struggled with and hung up her wet jacket.

"never mind you're not canceled" kailani swung her arms around zion's neck and hung his neck chuckling as zion wrapped his arms around her and burried his face into her neck

"you guys would be cute if y'all weren't bestfriends" brandon leaned against the frame of the hallway for a second as he admired the two

"and way to ruin the moment arreaga" kailani rolled her eyes so hard at the boy he thought they would fall out of her head

"damn you can't stand brandon now huh?" nick asked watching as the girl plopped onto the sofa next to him getting comfortable in the process

"he has a thing for defending ignorance and stupidity i should've known after the nail polish tweet" kailani scoffed while austin coughed to stop his laugh

"how exactly did you react to that tweet?" edwin asked curiously remembering the chaos zion created with that one tweet

"we don't exactly need to hear that story plus she was speaking in patois y'all wouldn't understand" zion tried to steer away from the story as the memory of kailani's red face of anger on facetime that night reappeared

"did anyone order the pizza?" brandon asked the group as he grew tired of hearing about kailani and zion every few seconds

"did you?" kailani repeated the question looking up at the boy with a smirk, brandon looked at her rubbing his temples removing his glasses — he wanted to curse her out with how slick her tongue was — eventually caving in smiling back making kailani realize how good he looked without his frames.

"i'll order it" he simply responded walking off while kailani turned back to the group of four boys staring her down

"what?" she furrowed her brows in confusion 

"h-how did you do that?" edwin stuttered a bit in amazement sitting forward as if he was ready to take notes

"you sassed brandon he didn't sass back and just did what needed to be done, we can't even even get him to wash a dish without proving to him he used it too" nick shook his head watching kailani stiffle her laugh once she realized he was serious

"i don't know" she looked at the four boys shrugging her shoulders

"talk about pussy power" austin muttered before nick plucked his neck for the comment he had made

"come on let's listen to a little music while we wait for the pizza" zion turned their home system on turning up the volume immediately
