The darts of booing came in torrents like the July rain

As the President presented the national budget

Unwarranted booing from unexpected quarter

The National Lawmakers became unlawful when honour called

Turning the Hallowed Chamber into a hollow court

Is it a congregation of unruly street urchins in a chamber for the nobles?

Our distinguished and honourable compatriots desecrated

The embodiment of our national integrity

Political partisanship has blinded the reasoning of nation builders

How did we get to this charade?

Are we now a people of nation destroyers?

Why has anarchy been let loose in the Chamber of purpose?

Are the fathers not to train the children in the way they should go?

What legacies are the youths of tomorrow being bequeathed?

Is it a legacy of disjointed loyalty?

Is it a legacy of lost tomorrow?

Is it a legacy of bleak and blighted hope?

Is it a country of disrespect for elders and institutions?

Those who disgrace the Mace and Chamber do not deserve our accolade

Those who acted like demented hoodlums at the market square

Are not befitting of our song and chant

Give us men and women of decorum in the next elections

And not people that behave like the boisterous wind in the desert.
