"Where is it? Where is it?!" Ian thrashed around his room looking for that one gift he had gotten his crush.

He was finally going to tell her how he felt and hopefully she would finally be happy. His crush my not have been the most popular girl or the prettiest, but he still fell in love with her. Her most recent boyfriend just broke her heart and left her to basically wallow in her own sorrow. Ian worked up the courage to message her and talk to her to make her feel better. They've been talking for months now, getting really close, and today was Valentine's Day.

"Fuck! Where is it?!" He searched more and finally found the forest green box. His lips formed a smiled. "She'll realize how much I actually like her." Ian took a firm grip on the box and nodded. His crush only lived down the street, so why not just walk? This year winter was a bit harsher than usual. The ground was covered in fresh powder snow.

He smiled to himself thinking of what he would say. White crystals were still falling from the sky as he walked. He hummed a bit, before stopping infront of her house. He looked to see if her family's car was there. It was.

He took a deep breath and walked up the stairs to her house slowly. He slipped the box into his coat pocket. Before he rang the doorbell, he looked down at his outfit. A plain orange shirt, his black zip up, and jeans. Outstretching his hand, he pressed the doorbell. It rang and the next thing heard were footsteps. His crush answered the door.

"Hey, Courtney." He said smiling. Courtney giggled and smiled back. "Hey, Ian." She hugged Ian tightly. He smelled her scent, odd to say, but she truly smelled amazing. Her scent consisted of chocolate and citrus.

He broke from the hug and took in how she looked. Her hair dipped just below shoulder length and she seemed to have curled it. She had a long sleeve white and red stripped shirt on with jeans.

"Wanna come in?" With his nod, they walked into her living room. She sat down and lounged back and he stood there staring at her beauty. "World to Ian..." She said giggling. Ian loved Courtney's giggling and her smiles. It took him a lot not to lunged at her and kiss her when she revealed them. He snapped out of it and sat next to her.

"Anyone's Valentine?" She thought about her answer before finally saying it. "I've been asked, but turned them all down. You?" Ian's confidence went down quite a bit and he became more nervous. "Me? Pfft, of course not." He said. She nodded, "Soo... you came here to hang out?" "Not exactly..." He said more quiet. "Then why...?" His eyes met her's and he broke out into a small chuckle. "I was getting to that!" She blushed, "O-oh." Ian reached into his pocket for the box. He kept his hand in his pocket and he gulped.

"Courtney, you know how much I care about you... but you have no idea how much I need  you. I need to say this now, will you be my Valentine?" By this time he had handed her the box and held her other hand.

You could clearly see the rose pink blush that spread across her cheeks. Before she could say anything Ian smiled brightly and whispered, "Go on. Open it." Her heart began racing and her instinct had her nod slowly. Courtney opened the box and gasped pulling her hand away from Ian's to cover her mouth. "O-oh my gosh!"

Inside the box was a necklace, but not just any necklace. The charm had her birth stone, aquamarine, in the middle of several small false diamonds. This charm was also in the shape of a heart.

Courtney began to tear up. "I-Ian, it's be-beautiful." Ian shook his head. "Not as beautiful as you." She looked up in surprise at this boy she felt so much for at this point.

Ian placed his hand on her cheek and smiled once again. "You're my diamond in the rough." Courtney's blush darkened as Ian leaned in. His lips grazed across hers. Soon their lips were entwined, bonded by only love and deep feelings.

After a few minutes and connecting lips, the two broke apart for air. Ian smiled and Courtney cracked a smile back as she giggled.

"So, will you be my Valentine, Courtney?" Courtney nodded widely. "Yes!"
