We were lying down on the grass,
watching the beauty of the sky;
she had her eyes on the stars,
but I had my eyes on my world~
It was a quiet night at the dorms. Each student was caught up in their dreams. Well... except this one boy.
The dual-haired boy was standing on the rooftop, looking up at the twinkling stars above him. His mind was blank. He did this quite often, mostly when he couldn't sleep. He stared upon them, starting to count them all.
"1, 2, 3, ..."
Sunny days, starry nights.
Here we are like kids each day,
just counting stars in wishing wells.
He'd always do that when he was here, even though he knew he could never count each and every one of them. He closed his eyes and exhaled tranquil.
"T-Todoroki-san...?"
A calm voice was calling his last name. He looked up at the sound and searched for it's source. The voice belonged to a young woman with silky black hair. She looked at him with a confused expression on her face.
Tonight the stars shine so bright,
Dancing away in the sky like lights.
Each one promising a wish come true,
They even guided me to you.
"Yaoyorozu...?"
He looked just as confused. Normally everyone should be asleep, so why is she here?
"I-is it okay if i sit next to you?"
She finally spoke. When Todoroki nodded, she walked towards him and sat down on the ground where the other was sitting. She looked up at the stars, smiling slightly. The wind blew gently through her hair and her eyes reflected the stars and moonlight.
"1, 2, 3,..."
Todoroki looked up at her in confusion. Yaoyorozu was counting each star. She giggled softly.
"I know it's silly, but i always end up counting them..."
She scratched her neck softly in emberrassment. Her cheeks turned slighty pink as she saw the young man next to her smile at her. She looked away, up to the stars again.
"If it's not rude to ask, what are you doing here at this hour..?"
Her voice sounded peaceful and calm. He leaned back on his hands and looked up at the stars again.
"Couldn't sleep."
He answered coldly. He looked at her out of the corners of his eyes. Her hair looked like it glowed in the moonlight.
"And you?"
He asked. Yaoyorozu didn't stop looking at the stars and smiled only a little bit.
"I just needed to sort some things out..."
Yaoyorozu felt tears coming up. She didn't try to stop them, nor did she try to hide them from him. Her tears reflected the light the stars gave. Todoroki said nothing, he watched her cry. He placed his hand on her cheek hesitantly and carfully whiped away her tears. The black haired girl turned her head towards him and leaned in against his hand.
"Is it because of what i think it is..?"
He asked her. She only nodded.
They looked up at the stars again. This moment was made for them and them alone. It looked like the the stars shined only to please the young pair. It was just the two of them, the stars and the moon.
Todoroki looked over at Yaoyorozu. He found her brighter than every star up there. Even if they tried their hardest, they could never shine as bright as she did. He placed a soft kiss on her cheek, on which Yaoyorozu reacted by resting her head on his shoulder.
Lying down, cold grass
Hands cold, but yours are always warm
Scarves and astonishing fragrance
"We'll get through this, Momo... together..."
"Thank you, Shouto..."
Lying here just holding hands
and counting stars we see.
Just knowing that this point in time
belongs to you and me.
counting some we do not see,
A speck in outer space.
Lying, counting stars with you.
This is my favorite place.
