Bree wellington, a quiet homeless teen trying to find her happiness. When a cocky troubled guy see's a strange girl sitting under a bench in the middle of winter. He begins to become curious. Will this be the start of a friendship or something else...
The cold flakey snow flakes surrounded me. I look up into the midnight sky feeling lost at the beauty of the darkness. I breathe out letting the heat of my breath give me the slightest warmth.
At least I have my coat to keep me warm. The coldness in the air reminds me that I'm alive. I'm here. I'm not dead.... at least not yet.
I check my maroon leather watch rapped around my left wrist, 1.33am it reads.
I stretch out my arms hitting them above the bench I chose to sleep under for the past month. The reason being that no one comes here, and I mean really it's like a ghost part in town.
It strange knowing that skyfalls is a busy place and the one place that isn't filled with people is this small park and bench. Wonder why I want to be myself at this time of the night? Well skyfalls might sound like a pretty place but it's actually a dangerous place, filled with drug dealers and criminals. The place I've called home for the past 16 years.
I cuddle up into my sleeping bag and lay my head on my beanie. I close my eyes imagining the stars that surround me and the beautiful bright moon that gives me light. Leaving me to peacefully fall asleep.
-2 hours later- I'm suddenly woken up to the sound of gun shots and bright lights. I bring my hand up to my face trying to see what's happening but the light is too bright.
Finally my eyes adapt and I can see. Two tall men that look like they are in their mid 20's running away across the dead grass from something.... someone. I try to cover myself up with my sleeping bag and make myself the least noticeable.
Finally the object that the two men were running away from comes into view. He's wearing a tight black hoodie and has a gun in his right hand.
He's too close. 'Please please don't see me' I repeat to myself. The tall broad man aprroaches me. I dig my nails into my skin and try to calm my breath.
Until he sits, on top of the bench that I'm underneath. My heart begins to race and I squint my eyes tight. Millions of thoughts rush through my head.
'This can't happen again.' 'This is my time to die isn't is' 'No! This can't be over I've fought for my life for so long and finally broke free' 'Just stay silent' "You'll be okay'
I repeat these words in my head and slowly open up my eyes to see no one. He's gone.
I let out deep breaths. Thanking the world. How did he not see me? Oh well, just thank god he didn't.
Thank you for not making this my last day on earth.
