Cheryl was getting ready for her sophomore year homecoming, trying her hardest to not turn red in frustration. She was angry because this would be the first social event at Riverdale High since the high school on the Southside shut down. She put on her skintight red dress, red heels, and makeup.
Toni was in her grandfather's trailer, getting ready for homecoming. She was invited by none other than Jughead Jones, which was weird to her because he had a girlfriend and knew Toni was into girls. She assumed it was just a pity ask since she didn't know anybody at Riverdale High, aside from Jughead, and of course her main best friends, Sweet Pea and Fangs Fogarty. Toni looked at herself in the mirror, wondering why she accepted Jug's invite. She put on the only dress she owned, a black satin number that she wore to her freshman homecoming. After taking a long look at herself in a dress she groaned and finally put on her black combat boots, they go with literally everything, after all. She applied some light-coverage foundation, a brown-colored lip gloss, and was on her way.
Toni and Cheryl ended up arriving to the school at the same time.
"Oh, hello, Antoinette. I was truly not expecting to see many of... you, tonight. Well, enjoy yourself to the best of your ability," Cheryl said, with her usual snarky attitude. Cheryl began to walk away from Toni into the school.
"It's Toni, bitch!" Toni shouted at Cheryl. Cheryl paused and turned around.
"What was that?" Cheryl began, "Antoinette."
"That's it you Northside bitch," Toni said, stomping towards Cheryl.
"Aw, what are you going to do? What, without your boys to back you up?" Cheryl asked. Then, in an instant, Cheryl slapped Toni in the face. "March towards me again and you'll get more than a slap. Southside scum, I swear."
Toni was infuriated. Her and Cheryl began to fight. Slap after slap, punch after punch. Then came Veronica Lodge, one of Toni's newer friends. Veronica tried to break up the fight, unsuccessfully. After Veronica got involved, Betty arrived.
"Oh, my God," Betty started. "Weatherbee! Somebody, get these girls!" Betty shouted. Seconds later, Principal Weatherbee and Sheriff Keller arrived.
"That's it, detention for the three of you," Weatherbee said, looking at Veronica, Cheryl, and Toni.
