~Chapter Twenty-One~

Start from the beginning

"Well, both of you are very injured. We're going to take you to a hospital and then let you go before seven," the lady said. We nodded and followed her into the car. I texted my housemates. My location will be bizarre, but I'll give you the short story. Mean dad escaped and found me and slapped me and hurt both of us. Quick trip to the hospital b4 coming back. We're okay for the most part. I sent it off and got concerned responses before Robert called me.

"That—ugh!" He growled.

"I know, I know," I said.

"I know that you know! I need to call Darren about this, do I have your permission?" He begged.

"I'll get him and Chuck. They're my brothers. I'll talk to you later," I said.

"Okay. Promise me."

"I promise," I said before hanging up and calling Darren.

"Have you seen the news?!" He exclaimed to me.

"I have and I need to tell you something about it," I said.

"Chuck is here and you're on speaker," Darren said.

"Good. Long story short, he found me. He slapped and hit me," I said.

"What happened after that?" Chuck asked.

"I screamed a few seconds before the one that would make me unconscious. Clark fought for a minute before the police came. They're taking him to prison," I said.

"Did he say anything to you?" Julia asked.

"I can't remember. I had an adrenaline rush," I responded honestly.

"Okay, I'm going to Chicago. Who's in?" Darren asked.

"Me," Chuck said.

"And me. I met this guy once in my life. If he did this to my sister on a date, I will kill him. He's such a coward, lacking the decency to do it another time hen she's with more people," Julia said, enraged.

"By the way we're also going to the hospital so don't get freaked out when you see my location," I said.

"Okay, so we're all definitely going. Call you later," Darren said, hanging up.

"I just heard a lot of speaking, so I assume that's Darren," Clark said. I nodded.

"And they're coming as soon as they can. The whole gang," I said, "Now to call my parents."

"Luna, are you alright?" Mum asked.

"Yeah, I'm okay I guess you could said," I said.

"Did you read...?"

"Yes. Is Dad awake and on speaker?" I asked.

"Yeah as of now," she said.

"I'm going to say something, but don't freak out. He found me and hit and slapped me. Clark came to my rescue and fought for a minute before the police came. Now, we're going to the hospital and he's going to prison," I said.

"Luna, I am freaking out. Are any of your family with you?" Mum asked.

"No. Darren's flying over soon and I made Robert practice lines with Brian and Mere," I said.

"Okay. Stay safe. Call your mum," Dad said.

"I promise and I'll call her now. Go sleep. Mum, when's the baby due by the way?"

"Two months," Mum responded, "I would fly over if I was allowed to. But I can't."

"Don't stress yourself out," I said.

"Okay. We'll sleep and then call you back," she said.

"I love you guys," I said as they repeated it back and I hung up.

"I cannot believe that monstrosity of a human being!" Mom exclaimed.

"Neither can I. Has anyone I've told yet told you?"

"Darren."

"Okay. I'm doing okay and I'm safe," I said.

"Good. Tell someone how you're doing when you come back," she said.

"I promise," I said. We hung up and pulled into the hospital.

We were finally discharged that night. Nothing bad had happened, but it was good to know they cared. "I'm sorry about my dad," I said to Clark later that day, holding an icepack to his eye.

"It's fine. You didn't have to apologize for his actions. I don't blame you. He scares you. Then and now. Forever," he said, taking my freezing hand off of the icepack and holding it.

"Do you want to come with us tonight? I can't imagine what your Chicago housemates would say," I said.

"No. I wouldn't want to intrude. Besides, I'm only five minutes away walking. The real question is, do you want to come with us?" He asked.

"No. I promised them I would be home tonight. Early call time," I explained.

"Alright. Let's get you home and then I'll walk back," he said.

"Are you 100% positive?" I asked him.

"I sure am. Now let's go," he said, holding out his hand. I took it and we walked in silence. Robert wrapped me in a tight hug as Meredith whispered something to Clark, closing the door behind herself.

"Come on," Robert said, holding me in his embrace. I glanced at the time. It was about eight thirty. Once I had gotten ready for bed, he crawled in with me.

"Thank you," I whispered.

"Shh. It's okay. Just sleep," he whispered to me. I had memories of when we were children, scared of fictional villains.

But this was worse.

It was more real and hovering over my head.

All.

The.

Time.

Disclaimer: I only own Luna and the plot line. Everything else belongs to the respective owners. In addition I am pretty sure this is an inaccurate interpretation of the real Charles Criss. I am sure he is a wonderful person.

Well, that was a lot. Dumplin' the movie comes out today on Netflix and I'm so excited!!! The book was great! I'm so tired, though. Also, I am pretty sure someone passive-aggressively told me fanfic makes me less of a person, so that's that. My ice skating Christmas show is tomorrow and we're the closing act, so no pressure there! Have a great time 'till I see you next!
