Start from the beginning

"that wasn't a dream?" I asked in realization as my cheeks began to heat up

"nuh uh" He cheesed

I brushed my teeth quickly and so did Masai, even though he had done it earlier. I put on some sweats and a t-shirt before we headed downstairs.

When we got downstairs everyone was sitting at the dinner table eating. Well everyone that slept over here, and uncle Jakob as well.

"I made you boys a plate" Grams said before pointing to two empty seats then getting up to go to the kitchen

"how did you guys sleep?" My dad asked as we sat down

"really good" Masai cheesed then place his hand on my thigh under the table

"hmm...I wonder how I look in orange" Uncle Jakob said

"anyways...what're the plans today, besides moving your presents from my living room?" He continued to ask

Grams came out of the kitchen with two plates in her hand and set them down in front of us.

"Thank you" Masai said quickly then picked up his fork

"uhh I was hoping to take him around, show him the city. He's never been and tomorrow Tre and Kam want to take me out so it has to be today. but I need a car..." I said then looked over at Storm

She looked up from her phone then looked between Masai and I before returning her eyes to her phone.

"no" She said with no emotion

"take the subway, it'll give him the real New York experience" Uncle Jakob suggested

"I don't even take the train and I live here" I argued

"you guys can take my car. you do have a license right Masai?"

"yes sir"

"Dad I have my license"

"you and my car? funny. not after what happened in the summer"

"It wasn't my fault!" I argued

"yeah because a pigeon flying past the windshield is a reason to swerve off into the opposite lane and almost cause three cars to collide into each other" Storm said, now caring to join the conversation

Masai began to laugh which soon caused everyone else to snicker too.

"it's not funny" I mumble before starting to eat my food "that was a near death experience"

"of course not. don't worry Mr. Richardson, I've been driving since I was 12, nothing like that will happen to your car"

"oh I'm not worried. if anything happens to it it'll just cost you half a million dollars...and my son"

He choked on his food a little resulting in him chugging his whole glass of water to help the food go down.

"he's kidding, right?" He whispered in my ear
