"I'm gonna be honest with you Ma, that meal there was exquisite," Major said to his mother.

Major, the number two overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, was coming off a rookie year in which he averaged 22 points, 7.5 assists and 4 steals a game. He was at home for the offseason spending time with his mother, Lille Mae.

Lillie Mae, the Secretary of Education for the United States was excited because her boys were coming home for the Sessions family reunion. Her sons Matthias, Malik, and Major were all to be in town to spend time with their mom before the reunion, something they hadn't done in several years.

Lillie Mae worked her way from being a cook in the United States Marines, to becoming the Gwinnett County School District Superintendent and now writes the curriculum and instruction for the entire United States of America school system.

"Bux, that sentence was incorrect grammar and you know better than that in this house," she quipped.

Bux was the nickname given to Major by his eldest brother, Matthias, after hitting a game winning three-point shot the sixth-grade.

"Now Ma, you know I isn't never gone be no grammartician or whatever you smart people call yawls selves, I'm a baller," Bux said.
Bux always had a way to make his mother laugh with his wit and annoying antics as the youngest of five siblings.

"Boy get your tail over here and help me clean this kitchen before people start coming," Lillie Mae said.

"No can do mommy, got something to do," Bux said. "And what is that, boy?" replied Lillie Mae. "I have to meet Bread at the stadium for his charity event."

Bread was the orphan Lillie Mae adopted when he was 9 years old and was on the practice squad for the Washington Redskins.

"Don't worry Ma, I got the kitchen," said Miesha.

Miesha, Lillie Mae's only girl, was a teacher, dance and cheerleading coach at Paul Lawrence Dunbar Senior High School, but always found a way to see her mother every day. Besides, she lived with her mom so what other options were there?

"Thank you, baby," Lillie Mae said. "I have to go pick Stix up from the airport anyway."
Stix was the nickname given to Matthias because ever since anyone could he remember, he was always playing the drums after church. Church was mandatory for the Sessions family because Lillie Mae accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior at the age of 12. Lillie wasn't always perfect, but she was consistent about going to church on Sundays and bible study every Thursday night.

"Well drop me off then, so I don't have to drive," Bux demanded to his mom. "Are you asking me or telling me?" Lillie Mae asked rhetorically. "Oh, I'm sorry Ma, May you drop me off at the stadium please?" Bux said with a grin on his face. "I'm walking out the door, so if you coming then let's go," Lillie replied.

When Lillie pulled up to the Washington Dulles airport, there was her oldest son Matthias and his wife decked from head to toe in Tallahassee Tornado gear. The Tornadoes were an NBA expansion team Matthias purchased after catching the lotto for $997 million two years ago.

"Hey, good lookin'," Stix said. "Wassup, playa?" Lillie replied.

Lillie and Stix always had a special way of saying hello and goodbye to each other, whether it be speaking as if they knew each other from the streets or one of the many handshakes they had come up with over the years.

"So you bring your wife, but my grandbabies ain't here?" Lillie asked Stix. "Yea Ma, they coming but their last day of school is Friday," Stix replied.

Stix and his wife Celeste had three kids together -- Romello, Royce, and Rihanna. The couple, who married nine years ago, also raised Matthias' oldest daughter, Tyianna, who was a senior in high school. Matthias, an Executive Producer at ESPN before catching the lotto, was a devoted husband and father as well as TIME magazine's Man of the Year for his many charitable donations as well as his work in the Tallahassee community.

"Well mama, is that other son of yours gonna make it or is he too busy running the church to come to the reunion?" Stix asked.

Lillie pulled off as if she hadn't heard anything Stix had said.

"UMMMM mother?" Stix said.

"I don't know Stix, I barely talk to your brother. You know he is so busy pastoring that big ole' church," Lillie snapped.

"Ma, you always try to make excuses for him. He not that busy to where he can't never attend anything," Stix said. His face was becoming red with rage, like an angry cartoon character before smoke came out their ears.

"Well, you know how your brother is so leave it at that," Lillie said.

"This weekend is big for us. We got the family reunion, Bux is getting his rookie of the year trophy and they are honoring you at the Community Center by naming it after you. What's so fucking hard about putting your God damn bible down and spending time with your family?" Stix said angrily.

"Enough" Lillie yelled. "If he don't wanna come, we not gonna make him."

"This wouldn't be the first major thing he missed," Stix growled, referring to when his father passed.

Malik, the second oldest of Lillie's children, was the Pastor of New Greater Hope Church in Charlotte, North Carolina and was the child almost never seen when family events came. Malik didn't show for his father's funeral five years ago because he was engulfed in his pastoral duties, and felt that his family only wanted to "put on a show" when his father passed. Tree, as he was affectionately known, was a 6-foot-9 inch former NBA player who blew out his knee in his third NBA season, and despite being a pastor of a mega church, had many self-esteem issues because he felt he let his father down when he wouldn't rehab and walked away from the game of basketball.

"Well call him and ask Stix, just to see what he says," Lillie said.

"Ma, you know I don't have that nigga number," Stix replied.

"And why not?" Lillie questioned.

"Man, fuck him! I don't respect nobody who can't come to their own daddy funeral," Stix said.

"Matthias Hezekiah Jonas Sessions, I don't care how you feel about your brother, but that language will cease in this vehicle, and I mean right now. Do you understand me?" Lillie asked.

"Yes ma'am," Stix replied like an adolescent child.

Stix was the most mannerable of all Lillie's boys and honored his mother and father with up most as the bible had so eloquently stated. Lillie handed him the phone. "Now call your brother, and be nice..........Please."

P.S. Thanks for inspiring me to do this Poo Poo. This was fun. Let me know what you think and if I should keep going.
