Losing you
Two words, and one painful meaning.
I lost you the day I broke my promise.
Andrea's POV **FLASHBACK**
I was sitting on my bed again texting my best friend, Adam like I did every night
We had had this conversation many times. " No don't skip class” he said "you made a promise, and remember what I said? I would never talk to you again if you skipped"
"But I haven't skipped once since I made that promise to you!" I said getting annoyed with him. It was my life and I could do what I wanted. I knew he was trying to look out for me but he was going about it the wrong way.
"That doesn't matter you made a promise and you're supposed to stick to it"
"Fine" I texted back angrily. I was going to skip anyways I didn't care what he said. He would forgive me eventually, he had too.
I had walked into school the next day like I did every morning. Boring old school. The only thing that made it interesting to me was James. His hair, his face, his smell. I swooned at the sight of him. I walked by him trying not to stare. It didn't work. It never did. His face was just too irresistible for my eyes.
James was one of those bad boys. You know the type that was completely reckless and wasn't afraid to do anything. He walked like he was the coolest thing on earth.
Which he was in my eyes.
He could wear the ugliest clothes and still look amazing.
I had a goal. To make sure I talked to him before the end of the year. Which wasn't going so great considering it was already January. Well today would be the day I thought to myself. Then the screeching bell rang in my ears telling me it was time to go to class.
"Andrea! Are coming to class? I know James isn't going. Come skip with me!" Yelled my best friend Samantha
Should I go or not. I might finally have a chance to talk to James I thought and Samantha was friends with him. Well it had been a year already since I made that promise to Adam and I didn't think that he would have the guts to ignore me so I went.
Adam’s POV
I had just walked into the school and there she was, Andrea. I watched her as she walked to her locker. I was tempted to go talk to her but I was too late, the bell rang telling me it was time to go to class.
I watched as her best friend Samantha came up to her. I couldn’t hear what she was but Andrea’s facial expressions told me that it was something exciting. I started walking to science class, I didn’t want to be late.
I got into class and slumped down into my chair. School was so boring. I wished Andrea was in some of my classes so I could ask her what she was talking to Samantha about.
I tried to pay attention as my teacher talked about atoms and molecules but I was so tired I couldn’t even keep my eyes open.
Finally the bell rang. It seemed like everyday class got longer and longer.
I starting walking to my locker and I saw Andrea and Samantha coming out of the library. They both had no books in their hands. I sure hoped she wasn’t skipping. It would be so hard to not talk to her. She was my best friend. I needed her in my life but I didn’t let her know that.
Andrea’s POV
I walked out of the library with Samantha, disappointed because James didn’t even come. Now I was going to get a phone call home for skipping and I would have to make up some excuse to my mom why I wasn’t in class.
“Andrea! Earth to Andrea!” Samantha said
“Opps sorry, what did you say?”
“I said there’s Adam! He’s staring right at you”
I started freaking out. He couldn’t see me skipping! He would be so mad at me. I stared walking down the hall really fast trying to avoid his eye contact.
1 year later
That was the day I lost Adam my best friend and I haven't talked to him since.
