Jessamine Breton looked up at her husband, weak and pale. "Her name will be Rosalie , ta-take good care of her my darling", she said, looking down at the bundle in her arms.
"No, Mina please don't say that. We'll take care of our daughter together, promise me" his voice broke as he looked her, tears pooling in his eyes. She was pale, and her breath labored "promise me Thomas, don't abandon her for your machines when I'm gone. Take c-care of our child. She is more special than you could know" she breathing slowed, then stopped. The sound of her pained breathing ceased. "Mina?" She didn't answer him, he looked at her once more, only to find her eyes closed and her head rolled at an unnatural angle. He reached forward, cradling her and the child to his chest, sobbing. The nursemaid eventually took the child from him, and he sobbed over his cherished wife until exhaustion took him.
