Chapter one: Move-in day

Time: 10:30 pm Friday, August 26th

Place:2755 Cruizmen drive

      The smell of brown liquor and extinguished cigar buds filled the air. The night was almost over and the time ticked closer to my departure in the near yet far morning. Tonight was my going away party because at 4:00 am I would be on my way to Louisiana to my home for the next four years. I by tomorrow afternoon I will officially be a student at Pestige University in Louisiana.

      Anyway, let me introduce myself. My name is Amoré Annalise Williams daughter of there Docter Joslin and Docter Roman Williams, They raised me to be the best, I always was or at least tried to be for them. Kindergarten, Elementry, Middle, High. I was at the top of my class of course. My parents expected it and being a Williams isn't easy so I made sure to make it look like it was.

        I wore a white dress that revealed my shoulders, fitted perfectly around my waist a small slit let eyes peek at my honey brown thigh. Click, Click, Click the sound my ruby red heels made and I walked down the hall my long curls bounced to the rhythm of the loud music that blasted through my home. I watched as my mom fraternized with guests and my dad showed off some of his latest films. ¨"Amoré !¨ I hear my name being called. I turn around to the call of my name and smile as I see whom the voice is coming from. It was my favorite cousin, Dion(De-on). Dion and I have been inseparable since birth. We have always been extremely close even though he is one year older than me. ¨Yes my dear cousin " I reply with a small giggle before walking to him. He smiles at me and held out his hand. I grab it as we proceed to do our handshake. He then pulls me into a hug and let's go, ¨ I can't believe my little cousin growing up so fast"I roll my eyes at his comment ¨You literally only a year older....calm down ¨I joke.¨But can you believe tomorrow ill be going to college with you! Amazinggggggggg!¨ I laugh before removing a strand of hair from my face. Dion laughs and pokes me ¨I sure can, and you already know its gonna be fun¨then my mother interrupts ¨Moonie, come here you aunt Tony want to take some pictures¨. Moonie, that's my childhood nickname. It has absolutely nothing to do with my name but the fact that I've always been obsessed with the moon, stars, constellations you know all that astronomy stuff. I've always found it interesting.¨, please stop calling me that, I'm eighteen¨ I facepalm. My mother stares at me ¨lil girl doesn't play with me, I birthed you so I call you whatever I want. Now come to take this picture¨ I pout a bit and walk over to her and my aunt posing for the picture. It's going to be a long night.

      I slowly climb into bed and pull the pure white covers over my legs. It is my last night in my room. I smile a bit and grab my phone looking down to check my notifications. I have a missed call from my ex, Lorenzo. I roll my eyes and sigh, debating on if I should call back. I finally give in and press the button. I put the phone on speaker and place it on my nightstand and take a deep breath, prepare my self for the BS he's about to come at me with. The phone didn't even ring twice before I heard that all to familiar deep monotone voice."Amoré.....wassup baby"

   "I'm not your baby Lorenzo, and why did you call me earlier ?" I huffed through the phone, hating how bold he was to just call me baby like that.

     "Stop playing love, you already know you gon always be for me. Together or not, and I called to ask why you ain't invite me to your going away party. Ion appreciates how you been ducking me lately" he in a tense voice.

   I paused before answering "Lorenz, we are done.....I need you to realize that, you hurt me."I sighed "And truly I'm not feeling you nomo, I didn't invite you because you are no longer welcome in my life, so if you would please stop calling and acting as nothing happened I would really like that"

   "Look, ion think you get it, love. I ain't going nowhere.....and you ain't either."

   "Goodbye Lorenz" I hung up as quickly as possible. Lorenz and I were high school sweethearts. I always thought we would be together forever. Until he started showing his true colors. Lorenz has a temper out of this world and I ain't the one to play with. He put his hands on me and I left. Straight like that.

  I then plug my phone in and pull the covers up laying my head on the soft pillow. With a mall yawn and a flutter of an eye, I was asleep and ready for my move-in day.

A bright light shines across my room peaking through all three windows. I toss a bit. The light then slowly moves up to my face. My eyes flutter open as I look up to check the time. " 6:00" I get up and began to get dressed. I take a shower and began to get ready. I chose to be comfortable and put on some grey tights with some Uggs and a yellow champion sweatshirt. I then pull my hair into a bun and watch as my other cousin Nygel walks into my room.

I roll my eyes "Umm.....ever heard of knocking"

"Nope" he smirks

I simply huff and grab a box and walk out towards the car. My parents had already filled it with snacks, I wonder how long they had been. I yawn and turn to see Dion walk out of the front door. I smile.

" You ready Lil cuz"

with a nod a poke him " of course !"

After the car had been all loaded along with my dad's truck we started on the road. About 30 minutes in I had already fallen asleep.

     BEEP BEEP BEEP!!!

      I quickly jumped from my sleep. My mother turns towards me " was where baby" I rub my eyes and take a look out the window. I stare in awe at the large campus. It's everything I thought it would be. There were so many others. We finally parked and my parents told me to check-in and they would bring my things to my room "just remember to test us your dorm location when you find out" I nod and look over to Nyg and Dion. "Let's go "  I gush excitedly. I walk through the quad to the registration table that was in the middle. I can feel eyes burning on me I didn't know why though. I look back and notice that they weren't really looking at me. They were all gawking at Nyg and Dion. I raised an eyebrow in confusion. " Um, what's this, you two are actually known ?" I laugh. Dion smirks " being a Q dog has its perks " Nyg smiled " and so does being a kappa". I look up "I might just pledge I've been thinking about it " you should" Nyg urged and began to walk in front of me.

   Finally, we made it to the table and I got all my info, after texting  my dorm info to my mom I look up to my cousins " Dorm time !!"

      It was now 7:00 pm and my dorm was finally made all up. The setup was really nice. There were three girls in one dorm and each had a separate small room but share the front area were the bathroom and shower were. My roommate was really nice their names, Kiara and Fay. Fay is Hispanic and Kiara is Japanese and Black she has a twin named Tiara but she chose a different school. My parent was now saying their goodbyes. Of course, my mother cried her eyes out. I hugged them both and told them I loved them and next they were gone. After showering I went into my room and played in my new bed for the next 4 years. "Well move-in day is finally over " I sighed. Before I even knew it I was curled under the fresh covers and asleep dreaming about what could possibly happen now that I was officially a college freshman.
