Chapter 3- Finding the Lost

Start from the beginning

The moment I get it on, I get up off the bed. A stabbing pain shoots through my body and I wince, using Sabre's chair to help me gain my balance once again. I grip my chest with my left hand and feel the bandages through the shirt. 'I just need Sabre to think I'm fine...' I start to walk, pushing the pain out of my mind as I walk towards the kitchen.

I walk to the fridge and grab something to drink, and my eyes land on a new bottle of water. My arm extends and my hand wraps around the neck of the bottle. I open it and take a sip, the cold water hitting my throat sends a sickening feeling through my body. It burns at first, but it soon grows tolerable.

I keep walking slowly, over to the main room of the house. That's when I see Sabre at the door, stuffing some stuff into a bag. "You ready?" Sabre asks me as soon as he notices me walking towards him. I nod and then he opens the door. The open door lets the cold air in, and I see the leaves blow by. The two of us walk out, and Sabre closes the door.

We take off, walking through the dark and gloomy forest. As we keep walking I start to see some fast, faded yellow blobs rushing through the trees. I start walking a bit faster; ignoring the screaming pain in my body. "Are you okay Rainbow Steve?" Sabre asks while catching up to my speed I was walking at. "Y-Yeah, I'm fine. This forest is just creepy." I say while getting my water from him and taking another sip. I've gotten used to the feeling as the cold water hits my warm throat, and it's the least of my worries.

That's when I start to see the forest ending and forming a snow biome. The memory I had earlier flashes through my mind, "Blue Steve is in a snow biome, inside of a mountain, near ice spikes." I whisper softly to myself. Sabre must've heard it though because he keeps looking at me confused. "What? Who's Blue Steve? Where are you trying to go anyways?" He asks as soon as I step on the snowy ground. Sabre keeps firing questions at me and I continue to walk.

"Blue Steve was my friend a while back. Remember how earlier I said that I was having weird memories after you defeated Memory Steve?" I ask and then stop. A strong 'pull' is trying to bring me towards the left from where we are. "Okay... I remember that." Sabre says and I change my direction that I walk. I inhale sharply before I continue.

"In these memories I had, I saw a bunch of them with Blue Steve. Me and him were close... The last memory I have of him is him being where I described." I start to tell him that Blue Steve was dead, but a lump forms in my throat. My teeth bite down on my bottom lip, hard.

Tears weld in my eyes as I speak softly. "I need to find him.." Sabre nods and we continue to walk.

My body begs for a break, but I keep moving. His house wasn't far from the edge of the forest. As I start to lose my hope, I see a ton of ice spikes near a hill. "Sabre, I think that's it!" I say and smile brightly.

We both walk faster towards the hill, Sabre staying behind me. As we get to the bottom of the hill, I see the ice balcony. My smile grows brighter then fades as I realize we don't have a way to get up. Sabre pulls out a iron pickaxe and then starts to break the ice, but I stop him last second. (Bad Sabre!)

"Sabre, don't break his house!" I shout then take the pickaxe from him. "Okay, sorry Rainbow Steve, I wasn't thinking." He says and the I hand him the pickaxe back. "Go and get some from over there." I say and then point over to the side. He runs over to that area and I sit down on the snowy ground. The cold sends shivers down my spine as my mind wanders,

'Now that I have my memories of Blue Steve, how am I supposed to react when I see his dead body? Am I going to cry, or am I going to just going to leave?' I get pulled from my thoughts by Sabre coming over and then places some cobblestone down in a stair-like form. The stairs won't take long to make, so I stand up and start walking towards the stairs.

I wince as I feel my body bend, and Sabre comes down the stairs he just finished to come and help me. "You okay?" He asks me softly as he helps me to get up. Eventually he gives up on seeing me wince by picking me up and carrying me himself. "I'm fine.." He gently sets me down on the balcony and I look at how.. Old the place looks. I walk into Blue Steve's old bedroom and see the stairs going down to where the younger me left him.

My breath hitches as I start to walk down the stairs, with Sabre trailing close behind me. As I get to the bottom I see the closed tomb he was left in. Sabre's hand grips mine tight as reassurance that it's okay. We walk in and watch as the water falls down along the cracked stone walls.

I feel some strength flow into my body from the water. It's the exact feeling I remember having when me and Blue Steve found the Steve Temple. As I reach the center of the room I go down into my knees. I start I open the tomb and Sabre comes over to help me. As it opens I see the lifeless Blue Steve with now purple lips, still holding the blue artifact that has now lost its shimmer of power.

A few tears roll down my face as I see it, and Sabre puts his hand on my back comfortingly. I close my eyes and let the tears fall.

~Magical third person POV~

Both Rainbow Steve and Sabre gather around the Blue Steve's dead body and close their eyes. Tears slowly stream down Rainbow Steve's face and two of them land on the blue artifact. The artifact starts glowing a night blue light, showing the powers are starting to awaken. The light keeps growing brighter and brighter, until it's a blindingly bright color.

Rainbow Steve and Sabre don't seem to notice the light though, until it is the blindingly bright color blue; that fades to white. As soon as the lights fade the Blue Steve slowly seems to open his eyes and doesn't even seem to notice the artifact in his hands. As he sits up he sees the crying Rainbow Steve being supported by a man he didn't know; wearing a chicken suit.

"W-Who are you?" Blue Steve asks while getting up and backing away. Rainbow Steve and Sabre look up to see the Steve who then falls backwards (Me on a daily basis).

"Blue Steve!"

"We hold on to each other, you are everything we need... This night could almost kill ya, when you're trying to survive. It's good to be here with ya' it's good to be alive"
