"He was here?" I stormed into the office. Iverson stood quickly.

"Adam-"

"He was here and you didn't contact me?!"

"He's gone now, so there's no use throwing a tantrum about it."

"Gone? What do you mean gone?" I froze. Not again. He can't be gone again.

"I mean, he's disappeared. A few cadets broke him out and have vanished. I was about to write the letters home."

I stumbled back, catching myself on the door. After two years, he finally came back to Earth, but then he vanished. Without saying goodbye. Again.

"Go home, Adam. You don't need to deal with it at this time of night," Iverson sat back down and continued writing the letters he was previously working on. I nodded and felt myself walk out of the office.

I had dreamt of the day that Takashi would come back to Earth. I told him that I wasn't going to be there when he got back, but I was angry and stupid. Now, I wish he could come home.
