She looks in the mirror one last time to make sure everything looks alright on her. The sequin champagne sleeveless sweetheart neckline mini dress snugs on her curves perfectly. Well it's only a mini dress by words, due to her short stature the dress falls a few inches above her knees. She had thought about getting it tailor so that it'll fall mid-thigh on her, but since she's been so busy writing her new publish book, she forgot about the dress. Not knowing what to do with her thick long black hair she parted her hair to the right and did a waterfall braid on both sides securing it in the back. For her makeup she decided to go with some natural makeup adding some rose gold glitter eye shadow from her Huda Beauty Rose Gold remastered eye shadow palette and a nude liquid lipstick with a hint of pink.

"Mina, are you almost done," Jessi her editor and best friend exclaims loudly as she enters in without knocking.

"Just gotta put on my shoes," Mina replies as she grabs her three-inch nude platforms with an ankle strap. "You're wearing that," she asks Jessi as she puts on her shoes.

"Yeah, I can't steal the night when you're the main event of the night. The book was a bomb. It's so popular and you know it's only been a week since it got publish, but it's currently being translated into five different languages. You, my friend, is the bomb."

Mina rolls her eyes as she gets up to grab her clutch and keys. She and Jessi have been friends since their college days. They met during orientation and were in the same group. Then they learned that they were going to be in the same department, English, and became best friends. During their senior year in college, Mina compiled a together a few of her poems and self-publish it through an independent publisher under the penname Wynter Rose. After a few months, her little collection of poems became a hit. After publishing her poems, Mia's Reading House, a well-established publisher in which Jessi was interning at, contacted her about signing a contract. She thought about it for days and after consulting with a few of her close friends, Jessi included, she said yes to the proposal.

Her second work was a tragic romance novella between two young ladies in their early twenties. Although, it was not acknowledged in the book the novella was dedicated to one of her best friends, Jason, who was gay and committed suicide when his partner rejected to accept the relationship. Just like how the book ended, Jason's lover soon came to accept his sexuality and lived miserably for the next three years until he finally moved on.

Her second work was met with controversies and even got banned at some libraries and public school. However, it was met with good remarks from other well-established authors. It even sold more copies than her poem collections and she earned a lot of money that she was named one of the youngest successful and most promising people on Forbes at the time. It has been almost four years since her last published work, yet her bank account kept growing. She didn't need to write a new book, but she wanted to give her readers and fans something new especially since they've been asking when her new book was coming out. With the announcement of her new book, many people had already pre-ordered copies and when the launch of it came, it was crazy. People lined up to their own copy that it was sold out for a while and more copies were made.

"Cheers to another job well done to our successful write," Jessi says as they clink their glasses of cocktails in midair and take of sip, "Now let's dance away," she says as they all enter the dance floor of the club each of them holding their drinks in one hand and start to dance to the music.

"A job well done today men, here's a drink to the successful deal," he says in his handsome deep voice.

"Finally, Nolan can get off our back about not working hard enough," one of them joke.
