Today was Autumn's Sweet Sixteen. Ever since she was young, she dreamed of this day. Her family and friends, and the love of her life, Thomas, were over. She had a lot of gifts that any sixteen girl would get. Her gifts included new clothes, shoes, a new phone, makeup, even though she doesn't wear makeup that much, and money.
"This surprise party is the best. Thanks Mom and Dad!" exclaimed Autumn. She hugged her parents, thanking them again.
"You're welcome honey," her dad said kissing her on the cheek.
"Yes, you're so welcome. I hope you enjoy all your gifts and we might have a surprise for you afterwards," her mom said looking at Autumn's dad.
"I can't wait! Thanks again," Autumn said skipping away towards her friends.
"Do you have it ready?" her mom questioned.
"Yes, Elisabeth. It will be here around seven," her dad answered.
"Okay. She will be so happy David. Let's get back to the party," Elisabeth said walking hand in hand with David towards the party.
As Autumn was walking toward her friends and Thomas, she saw him giving a hug to one of her friends, Delilah.
"What is he doing with her? I doubt it that he would cheat on me. I know he loves me." She walked off, hoping he's not cheating on her.
"Thomas, she's coming. Stop hugging me. She will get curious about it," Dalilah said trying to get out of his grip.
"Oops. Sorry," he said letting go of her.
"Hey birthday girl," Thomas says wrapping his hand around Autumn's waist and giving her a peck on her cheek.
"Hi honey," Autumn said giving him a hug.
"How do you like your birthday so far and what about my present I gave you? That new iPhone X. Like it?" Thomas said.
"I love it! Thanks. This is the best birthday I have ever had," she said.
"Awesome," he said hugging her tightly, but looking over Autumn's shoulder smiling at Delilah.
"But what about you guys? Are you having fun?" Autumn asks.
"Yes. Totally. This is the best birthday party I have ever been to. Your parents did great at setting this place up," Delilah said looking around them, then landing her eyes on Thomas, smiling at him.
"Why are you smiling, Delilah?" Autumn said looking at her then to Thomas.
"Oh, no reason. Just thinking," Delilah said.
"Oh, okay. Let's go dance." Autumn said taking Thomas's hand and running towards the dance floor.
"Yeah, I'll be there in a second. I, ah gotta go use the restroom." Delilah yelled at her, because the sound of the music was so loud.
"Okay. Be quick. The party will end soon." Autumn yelled back.
'Ugh. I hate her so much, why hasn't he broken up with her yet,' Delilah thought to herself. She then walked to where everyone is dancing.
Everyone at the party was dancing, drinking punch, and having a good time. They didn't want to leave.
"Hey guys, are you having a good time?!" the DJ said on the mic.
"Yessssss!" everyone yelled.
"Well, sorry to break up this lit shindig, but this party has ended. Peace out my dudes!" the DJ said. He turned off everything, and walked away. Everyone groaned and was whining. The guests then started to leave.
"Bye Autumn. This party was awesome," Autumn's friend said while hugging her.
"Thanks," Autumn said.
"Your all grown up. I remember like it was yesterday when you were just born," her grandma said hugging her.
"Yep I'm sixteen now. Love you, bye," Autumn said.
"Invite me to your next party when you have it next," her other friend said.
"I will. Bye," Autumn said waving to her last guest.
"I'll see you tomorrow night at your house," Autumn said to Thomas before he left.
"Okay. See you tomorrow and Delilah, do you need a ride home? It's on my way," Thomas asked Delilah.
"Sure. I drank too much punch and I feel sick," Delilah said.
"Okay. Let's go," Thomas said.
"Um, you sure Delilah. I can take you home," Autumn said
"Yes, I'm sure. It will be fine," Delilah said hugging her then opening the door.
"It's fine Autumn. See you tomorrow," Thomas said.
"Okay then. Bye," Autumn said hugging both of them. Then Autumn shut the door after they left.
'I wish Delilah said no to him. I just need to stop talking about this or I will think that he is cheating on me. Tomorrow I can spend the whole night with him' Autumn said to herself.
"I need to clean this up. There are cups and plates everywhere. This will be so much work," Autumn said walking towards the mess. She was about to clean up, but then she heard music coming from the game room.
"Who is blasting that music? I thought everyone left," Autumn said walking up the stairs. She got up the stairs and followed the music. Then she reached the game room. She opened the door and saw the rest of her friends dancing and singing karaoke.
"What the heck are you guys doing?! You guys are supposed to be out of the house! The party has ended!" Autumn yelled. They ran out of the room, down the stairs, and out of the house.
"Gosh. Stupid people. I need to finish the cleaning, but where is my parents?" Autumn said shutting the door and walking down the stairs.
"Mom, Dad, where are you?" Autumn asked walking around the house. She then got a text from her mom. It said, "Meet us in the garage if you want to see your surprise." Autumn smiled and ran to the garage. When she got there, she saw something covered with a big bow on top.
"Is this what I think it is?" Autumn asked walking toward the present.
"You have to find out," her dad said. She took the cover off the item and gasps in surprise.
"A Limited Edition Bugatti Veyron! Aw, you guys shouldn't have," Autumn said hugging her parents.
"This is your Sweet Sixteen. You need to have a big present at the end," her mom said kissing her on the forehead.
"Thanks guys. I love you so much. I'll be driving this when I go see Thomas tomorrow night," Autumn said opening one of the doors to see inside.
"Love you too and that would be a good idea. You don't have to drive our cars anymore," her dad said laughing a little.
"Yeah. Sorry about that," Autumn said getting out of the car. "But can I have the car keys?"
"Oh yeah," her dad said pulling them out of his pockets and tossing them to her.
"Thanks again. I'm going to go to bed now. Today was a tiring, but fun day. Goodnight
and love you," Autumn said walking away.
"Okay goodnight. Love you too," they both said. She then walked out the the garage, skipping to her bedroom.
"I love her so much," her mom said walking back inside to their room.
"Me too Elisabeth. Such a sweet girl," David said heading to the bedroom and getting into bed.
"Goodnight," her mom said before she went to bed.
"Night," her dad said before he too went to bed.
It was the next day and Autumn was still asleep. She was so tired from
yesterday, she forgot to clean up the mess that her guest made. She then shot right up
from her bed and remembered what's going to happen today. It was her 6 month anniversary with Thomas. She looked at the clock and it was eleven-thirty.
"Crap," Autumn said. 'I only have six hours before I go over to Thomas's house. The six hours I have will go very fast. I still have to eat, clean, take a shower, and get something for him. I better get started,' Autumn said to herself.
She got off her bed and went downstairs into the kitchen.
"Morning honey," her mom said coming up towards her and giving her a kiss on top of
her head.
"Morning Mom, Morning Dad," Autumn said sitting down at the dining room table, waiting for the maids to bring her her breakfast.
"You woke up late today. You always wake up around eight," her dad said sipping his cup of coffee.
"Well yesterday, I went to bed late and what about the house? We need to clean it up." Autumn said grabbing her fork and cutting her pancakes.
"You just rest and getting ready for today. We will clean. Right David?" her mom said giving a glare at him.
"Uh what? Oh yeah. We will clean. You just get ready," her dad said taking another sip of his coffee.
"Oh, okay. Good. These six hours will go fast," she said taking a bite of her bacon.
After ten minutes she was done. She went upstairs and got to her room. She pulled out her outfit to wear for today. She got out a floral, red halter dress and some flats. And lets not forget the silver heart diamond necklace Thomas gave her when they started to date.
"Perfect," she said. "Now I need to take a shower."
When she got out she blow dried and then curled her blonde hair, and did her makeup. She did a natural look since she didn't like a full face of makeup. She then put her dress on and her necklace, and her shoes.
"It's already twelve thirty," she said grabbing her purse and going out of her room.
"You're so beautiful," her dad said looking at her from the bottom to the top.
"Yes, you are very pretty. Thomas is one lucky guy," her mom said. "You better get going if you want to buy him a present,"
"You know me so well. I was just about to leave. Going to drive my new car. Bye," Autumn said opening the door.
"Bye," both of her parents said. She then walked out of the door and into the garage. She unlocked the car and went inside.
"This is so beautiful. I love my parents so much," she said and then she started the engine. She pulled out of the driveway and started to drive to the mall.
"What should I get him? He already has like everything. I should get him something special. I got it," After minutes driving, she finally arrives at the mall. She got out of the car and locked it. Everyone was giving her looks and were looking at the car. She just walked past them with a smile on her face. She walked into the mall and started heading towards the Rings, Necklaces, and More section.
"This is it," Autumn said standing in front of the store. "Hope he will like it."
She walked in and started looking through everything.
"Are you finding everything all right?" the worker said.
"Yes, but I'm looking for key chains for couples and I want to make it my self," Autumn said to the lady.
"Alright then. Follow me," the lady said showing the way toward the Make It Yourself section.
"Everything is all made. So what you are going to do is type what you want it to say and pick what item you want it to be on. I leave you to it," the lady said walking away.
"Thanks," Autumn said. "Now what do I want it to say," Autumn said to herself. "Got it."
"It will say To: Thomas, From: Autumn. Thomas, I am very thankful that you are in my life. I love you so much. I don't know what I would do without you. I'm proud to be yours. Love Autumn."
"Perfect," Autumn said while hitting enter. She now has to wait about thirty to forty minutes for it to be done.
"I'll just sit and wait," Autumn said while sitting down on one of the chairs.
It has been about thirty-five minutes and she heard her name be called. She got up and went to the counter.
"Here you go. It will be $89.99. Whoever is getting this must be very special to you," the lady behind the counter said.
"Thank you. And yes he is very special to me. Bye," Autumn said and walked out of the store. It's about five-thirty.
"I better get going. I don't want to be late," Autumn said walking out of the mall and heading towards her car. She got in and pulled out of the parking lot.
"I hope he likes this," Autumn said turning on a street heading towards his house.
After about thirty minutes, she reaches his house.
"Oh, I'm so nervous," Autumn said parking her car in his driveway and walking up his sidewalk. She knocks on the door, and doesn't hear anything or him coming up to the door.
"That's weird. He's probably going to surprise me. I'll just go in," Autumn said walking into his house. When she got inside all the lights were turned off instead of the family room.
"That's weird. Oh well," Autumn said walking towards the family room. She heard a movie playing.
"Huh. He was supposed to wait for me to get here to watch the movie," Autumn said turing the last corner. When she turned that last corner she didn't expect to see Delilah there and Thomas sitting on the couch with his arm wrapped around her shoulder.
"What. The. Heck!" Autumn yelled. "What is this supposed to mean? You were cheating on me with my best friend who I knew since I was in Kindergarten!"
She walked up to Delilah and pulled her by the arm.
"Gosh Autumn. Chill," Delilah said.
"Chill. CHILL! How am I supposed to chill when I see my best friend with my boyfriend on our one year anniversary. Everything I did for you guys is down the drain. I am done with you guys."
"Autumn calm down. I'm sorry, but I wanted to move on," Thomas said wrapping his arm around Delilah's waist.
"This is how you "move on" Wow. I'm done. Both of you never talk to me again. Oh and Thomas here's your present, this key chain, I made for you today" She said while throwing it at him. It hit him in the face.
"Gosh Autumn," Thomas said while rubbing his forehead.
"You should give it to someone more special than me," Autumn said while running back outside in tears.
"Autumn wa-," Delilah said, but Autumn slammed the door before she could hear the rest. She didn't even care that it was pouring down rain. She ran to her car, started the engine, and pulled out of his driveway.
"How could he have done this to me?" Autumn said still crying. Her eyes were very blurry, that she couldn't even see where she is going. As she tried to wipe her eyes, she lost grip of the steering wheel and started heading toward a car coming her direction.
"Ahhhhh!" she screamed, but before she could turn she hit the car. This hit was very serious. The other car hit the driver's side of Autumn's car. By the way Autumn was going pretty fast. The other person passed out for a minute or so, but when she woke up she saw blood on the windows. She got out of her car and ran to Autumn's car. She couldn't open Autumn's door since it was stuck between her car. She tried banging on the window but it wasn't any help. She finally called the police.
"Hello, Yes. I just had a serious accident with a teenage girl. My arm hurts a little, but the girl looks like she is in bad condition. I can't open the door to her car. Please hurry," the lady said nervously.
"Help is on the way," the operator said.
"Thank You."
"Honey you are going to be alright. The police and the ambulance will be here soon. Just stay with me." the lady said to Autumn.
The police and the ambulance finally came. There was some traffic, so they had to move the cars carefully.
"Okay guys. This is what we have to do. We have to get these cars out of the way for the other cars to go by. We need the girl out of the car as fast as possible. She is losing a lot of blood. Let's be as careful as possible. Let's start" one of the policeman said.
All the police and the medics started pushing on the lady's car. They pushed the car a couple feet, but not enough for the other cars to go by. After ten minutes of pushing, they got the car on the side of the road. The other police started working on the traffic. The damage was serious, but not as serious as Autumn's car. They finally got to Autumn' car and got a wedge out and put it in the crack of the car door. They finally pried open the door. One of the medics grabbed Autumn and pulled her out of the car. With the help of another medic, they put her on a stretcher. He put an oxygen mask on her and called over a doctor to check her blood. He also looked for any injuries.
"First, guys call a tow truck and tow her car away. Second, she might have brain trauma and may have broke her leg. We need to get her to the doctor fast and maybe do some surgery on her. Find a way to call her parents. They should be there with her. Let's go," the medic said.
He and the other medic picked up the stretcher and put it in the ambulance truck. They shut the door and went to the driver's seat. They started the engine and drove to the hospital.
"Lady, how are you doing?" the police said.
"I'd doing fine. My arm hurts a little though. Thanks for asking," the lady said
'Your welcome. This is what we are suppose to do. Let's take you to the hospital for some check ups. You can go into my car. I'll drive you there," the police said showing her the way to his car.
"Thank you," the lady said getting into the car. They then drove away.
"Do you think that Autumn should be home by now? She said that she won't be staying the night over at his house. I think something happened to her," her mom said worrying a little, pacing back and forth.
"I think she's fine. She's probably having a good time with him and lost track of the time," her dad said hugging her mom.
"No, I can't take this anymore. I'm calling Thomas," her mom said picking up her phone.
She dialed Thomas's phone number, waiting for him to respond.
"What do you want?" Thomas said back to Autumn's mom.
"What! Don't talk to me like that!" her mom yelled back to him.
"Oh, sorry Mrs.Preston. I thought you were someone else. Anyway, why did you call me?" Thomas asked.
"I was wondering why Autumn hasn't came back to her house yet. Do you know why?" Mrs. Preston asked.
"She is not here anymore. We had a fight and I think we have broken up. She should have been home already," Thomas said.
"You guys broke up. It looked like you guys loved each other, but she isn't home."
"I'll call her. I will call you back afterwards," Thomas said.
"Okay, bye," Mrs.Preston said while ending the call. When she was about to put her phone away, she got a phone call.
"Huh. It's Autumn's phone number," Mrs.Preston said to her husband. She answered the call.
"Honey. I wa-" Mrs.Preston was about the say before a male voice talked.
"Is this Autumn's mom?" the guy said.
"Yes. What seems to be the problem?" Mrs.Preston asked.
"Well your daughter has been in a serious accident. She broke her head and has some damage in her head. We don't know if she will have memory loss or something not as bad. You should come over as soon as possible. The car has been towed to the repair shop. I am sorry that this happened. Bye," the guy said.
"Um, thank you. Bye," Mrs.Preston said turning to face Mr.Preston.
"What happened. Is it bad?" Mr.Preston said.
"Autumn has been in a car accident. We need to leave NOW!" Mrs.Preston said running towards the garage.
"Oh no," Mr.Preston said running towards her.
They got into the parking lot and Mrs.Preston ran to the doors. She didn't care that it was pouring down rain. All she wanted is her only daughter, her only child in her arms. She opened it up and ran to the counter.
"Where is my daughter!" Mrs.Preston yelled.
"I'm sorry, who?" the lady behind the counter asked.
"My daughter. The one who got into the car accident. Autumn." Mrs.Preston said.
"Oh. I'm sorry. She is in surgery right now. You have to wait. Please go sit," the lady said pointing to the chairs.
"Okay. Thank you," Mrs.Preston said while walking to the seats. As she sat down Mr.Preston came in and sat down by her.
"You are so wet. Let me get you a towel." Mr.Preston said.
"No. I'm fine." she said while wiping her eyes.
"Okay. So what happening to Autumn right now?" Mr.Preston asked.
"She is in surgery," Mrs.Preston said with tears in her eyes.
"Honey, it will be alright. She is a strong, young lady. She will make it," Mr.Preston said while hugging her.
"I know, but the guy mentioned that she might have some memory loss. At least she will forget about Thomas. That jerk," Mrs.Preston said.
"What about him?" he asked.
"He broke up with her and that's probably why she crashed." she said while scrunching her face with anger.
"Don't say that. It was probably because of the rain. But he broke up with her. That rascal." he said also with anger.
"I know."
As they were talking, they heard their name being called.
"Preston. Mrs.Preston. Autumn is done with her surgery. She is in room 216." the lady said.
"Thank you so much." Mrs.Preston said. They started running down the hallway, dodging patients, doctors, and carts. They finally reached her room. Mrs.Preston ran inside towards Autumns bed. She's not awake.
"Are you Mrs.Preston, Autumn's mom?" the doctor said.
"Yes I am. What's the problem?" she asked.
'Well as you can see she has broken her leg. She is also unconscious. We don't know how long it could take. Hours, weeks, months. Just come here everyday to watch her. You can also spend the night here some days. And sorry to say, but she has lost some memory," the doctor said.
"What really. Oh, okay. Thank you. Can we be alone for awhile?" she asked.
"Yes you can. We have already went over everything on her. She did well during surgery. She has some cuts and a deep cut on her body. Especially her head.
"Okay. Thank you again. Bye," she said sitting by Autumn. The doctor walked out.
"Oh honey, you are going to be fine. We will be here with you everyday. We are not going to leave you," her mom said kissing her on her head.
They sat there everyday watching her, waiting for her to get better. They talked to her, tell her stories, and how the dealt with Thomas and Delilah. They found out the Thomas was cheating on her for a month and a half.
It was about a month or so when the car accident has happened, they walked in and sat down by Autumn.
"How are you doing today, Autumn?" her mom said with her back towards her and her dad using the restroom.
"F-fine," Autumn said trying to sit up. Her mom turned around slowly seeing her struggling to sit up.
"A-Autumn, your awake," her mom said running towards her.
"Honey hurry up. She's awake,"
"What! She's awake. Yay!" her dad said running out the the bathroom to her.
"Where am I?" Autumn asked looking around.
"You are in the hospital. Do you remember us or what happened to you?" her dad said looking at her.
"I know that you are my parents. Elisabeth and David Pre...Pre?
"Preston," her dad said.
"Yeah, Preston. That's all I really remember," Autumn said.
"That's good that you remember us, but you got into a car accident about a month ago. It was very serious and that's why you lost your memory. Something else happened, but we will tell you later." her mom said.
"Honey, I think we should call the doctor. I'll go get him," her dad said walking to the door.
"Okay. I'll stay here with Autumn," her mom said.
Her dad then left to go get the doctor.
"How are you feeling?" her mom said.
"A little sore in the head, but good," she said rubbing her head.
"That's good. And what I was going to say was that you also had a boyfriend, Thomas, who cheated on you with your best friend, Delilah, who you knew since kindergarten. But your dad and I dealt with them," her mom said holding her hands.
"Wow. Why would I date him. He sounds like a jerk" Autumn said.
"I know. He is," her mom said laughing a little.
Her dad came into the room with the doctor. The doctor checked her heart, blood, and her leg and head. He asked them about how bad her memory was. Her mom told her that she can remember us, but nothing else.
"Thank you for telling me that. She will stay here for another month. You guys also don't have to come here everyday anymore. She's doing better so she can manage on her own," the doctor said writing some information down.
"Okay. Thank you so much. I don't know what we would have done without you," her mom said to the doctor.
"Your welcome. It's our job," he said walking out of the room.
"Honey we are going to leave now. If you need anything just call the doctors. They will be there to help," her mom said while giving her a kiss on her head. Her dad did the same.
"I know. Bye," she said waving at them. When they left she tried to get out of her bed. It was hard at first, but she eventually got out from her bed.
She opened the door and walked out of her room. Slowly, slowly, she walked down the hallway. She saw a guy that looked like her walking outside, so she followed him. She found out that you can go outside for some fresh air, so she did that.
She followed the guy and saw where he sat at. She then sat behind him. They both looked nervous, because it was their first time being out in a long time. They both turned around and said hi to each other. They both started laughing.
"You go first," Autumn said.
"No, you first," they guy said.
"Okay. My name is Autumn. Yours?" Autumn asked holding her hand out.
"Colby. What a pretty name," Colby said shaking her hand.
"So why are you here? If you mind me asking." Autumn said.
"I don't mind. I actually lost my memory from a car accident about a month or so ago. What about you?" he asked.
"Actually, that is what happened to me. I lost my memory to," Autumn said back to Colby.
"Really. Wow," Colby said. "Oh my nurse is calling me back. I hope I can see you around again, Autumn," he said.
"Yeah me too," she said to him.
"Wait Colby. My room number is 216. I'll give you my number tomorrow."
"Okay. Bye Autumn."
"Bye."
"Can't believe I found someone that went through the same thing as me," she said to herself. She went back to her room.
It was getting pretty late, so she got into her bed and went to sleep. She woke up to a knock on her door.
"Who is it?" she said trying to get out of her bed. When she reached the door, she saw Colby in the window.
"Colby. What are you doing here?" she said to him pulling him inside looking down the hallways before closing the door.
"I came to spend some time with you and get your phone number,"he said.
"Oh yeah. Hold on," Autumn said getting her phone out. She showed her phone number in and he put her number in.
"Now I can talk to you everyday, even when I get released," Colby said smiling.
"Yeah. That would be fun," Autumn said.
"Do you want to go outside now. I'm kind of bored." Colby asked Autumn.
"Yeah. Let me tell my nurse. Then we can go,"
"Okay."
Autumn then told her nurse and they went outside.
A month has past and Autumn and Colby have gotten closer and closer. You can say that they are best friends at this point. Today both Autumn and Colby are getting released from the hospital. Autumn's parents gathered up her stuff, payed, and left. Autumn then called Colby.
"Hi Colby. Just saying that we are leaving. What about you?"
"Yeah. I'm in my car right now. Got to go. Call you when I get home."
"Okay. Bye Colby."
"Who was that Autumn?" her mom asked.
"A guy I became friends with during this past month. His name is Colby. He went through the same accident I went through," Autumn said.
"Oh, that's nice that you met someone," her mom said.
They finally reached their mansion. Autumn's dad helped her bring her stuff to her room. She then got a phone call from Colby.
"Hey where do you live?" Colby asked.
"Why do you ask Colby?" Autumn said.
"I live in the neighborhood of Cherry Hills,"Autumn said.
"Look out your window,"Colby said
Autumn went to her window and saw Colby standing outside of her gates, looking at her with his phone in his hands.
"We live by each other,"Autumn said.
She ended the call and ran downstairs.
"Be careful," her dad said. She just ignored him and ran outside. She jumped into Colby's arms and he spun her around.
"I thought I would never see you again," Autumn said looking into his eyes.
"Me too. I was sad to see you go," Colby said.
"Let's take a walk," he said holding out his hand for Autumn.
"Okay."
"We have a lot to talk about. Let's go."
