One of the common trends this day and age is to protect people from reality, history, and anything that goes against the norms they have set. This is a grave mistake. For we are making the people weak, removing any sense that they might have. Remove truth from people's lives, then forcing this weakened generation to face their underlying truths. They will turn, and they will run, because without truth we will all be susceptible to war with our own kin at the very thought of someone having a different opinion, to the point of rejecting facts. This spreading of ignorance will be what tears the very little peace we have established, asunder.

I know that many people think certain things are to harsh to be said. But we as not as a nation, but as a race can fix this. One of the most prominent issue is racism. I asked a few people if they knew the term Zipperhead most did not, even though this was another term that the American people had instituted during; The Second World War 1940-1945, The Korean War 1950-1953, even the war in Vietnam 1955-1975. The the term was used to describe when you shoot an Asian in the head or the rest of the body with a machine gun, it's like they are being opened up like a zipper. After the bombing of Pearl Harbor on December, 7, 1941 we put the Japanese and many others who even looked like them in internment camps stating that they could be spies, why was this forgotten by so many people?

We change our history to hide facts that we are ashamed of. There are many examples of this but one of the biggest is the n-word which I am forced to censor, it had dehumanized an entire race and is totally rejected from our education to the point if you say it even when reading a historical text, we make sure that no one knows it, and that ignorance is what causes conflict in the minds of our people the majority of racists do not know any African Americans, and they just know what they were taught since the time they were young by their parents whom also are ignorant of the truth behind this word. We need to preserve our right to education and if we censor our history how are we to learn about ourselves.

Morgan Freeman was in an interview. The facilitator had asked him about Black History month. He said "I don't want a Black History month... because Black History is American history." At first it struck me as odd, why would you not want to bring it to a surface, but as I thought on this, he was not saying to hide it but just to not treat it as special, to not give it power, to show that we as people should accept it as part of us and move on with our lives, not to forget, but to not to let a past weigh us down. Amongst other things that were said I heard something profound. "Why do we only have a Black History month that we celebrate nationwide? Why do we not celebrate the Jewish people who during World War Two had seen atrocities that no one could forget?" I find that he was correct in think that these are dangerous actions, the act of forgetting, or shunning, something real, something that should be remembered.

The past is not the only thing being removed the things known as safe spaces let people live in a world that they choose. You were to object, you were to be removed. Silenced. Our minds should be altered so that, all will be forced to accept their reality. Many stories tell of this like in the book 1984 by George Orwell, where people are monitored 24/7 to make sure that the will of "Big Brother." is enacted and when I look around at the the many "programs" or "causes" I see this dystopic future, of cameras, of free thinkers being killed. I am in fear not just for myself who has little censorship, but those after me, the next generation, the next line of thinkers, ones who they expect to accept everything without a single mindful comment, or a thought of rebellion.
