Love is Unique

Chapter 1

I'm packing my bags to put them in my car as I leave my bedroom with a box, my mom stepped in front of me, "Where do you think you're going?" She says with a sad look on her face.

"I'm leaving mom. I'm 18 now so you can no longer push me around. I'm not putting up with your drug addict ass anymore, I'm done." I snap at her because I'm tired of her hitting me when she's going through withdrawal. I'm looking her hard in the face when she drops her head to the floor and starts crying so I push her out of my way.

When I'm finally done putting all of my stuff in my car I go to the bank and pull all of my money out of my checking and savings account, then I leave that drug addict town and never look back.

I come upon this little town after driving for 4 hours and its name is Wolfcreek, it's a small town out in the middle of nowhere and surrounded by miles of trees. I feel like it's my kind of place that I love to live. As I'm driving through the town I see a sign that says " Apartments for Rent" so I park right beside the sign and call the number on it.

Finally, someone answers after the 4th ring, I hear a deep, kind voice say, "Hello?"

"Hi, my name is Scarlet. I'm new in town and I saw your apartments for rent sign. I'm interested in renting one of them." I say nervously.

"Oh ok, Miss Scarlet. Where are you currently at so we can talk in person?"

"I'm parked by the For Rent sign, but how much are the apartments before you come and meet me?"

"They're 2 bedroom apartments for $300 a month with everything included and they're furnished."

"That's an amazing price. I'll take one."

"Ok I'll be there in 5 minutes with a key and we can fill out the paperwork."

"Ok see you soon."

As I'm sitting there waiting I decide to brush my long brown hair that is in knots to make sure I look presentable. I see a red truck pull up and park beside me and a guy that looks like he's in his 20s with dark brown hair and green eyes. He's wearing a black tank top that is tight so I can see his abs and muscles, a dark pair of jeans and boots. He's so sexy it's unreal. So I awkwardly get out of my car and keep my eyes on him as he walks over to me. 

When he reaches me, he puts his hand out for me to shake and says, "You must be Scarlet, who I just got off the phone with. I'm Zach." Then he smiles shyly at me which I thought was cute.

I take his hand in mine and shake it firmly, "Nice to meet you, Zach." I say with a big smile on my face because he seems so nice and he smells like Axe which I love.

We let go of each other's hands and he says, "Well let me show you the apartment." So he turns and opens the door to the apartment building and we walk up the steps and down the hall to the last door on the right. He pulls out his keys, unlocks it, opens the door, then takes a step back and says, "Ladies first." Which I thought was super sweet.

As I walk past him and into the apartment, I'm amazed at how cute it is. I turn when I hear him shut the door behind me. I watch him then walk over the table that has 2 papers on it and a pen. So I follow him to the table as he pulls out a chair from the table and motions for me to sit in it. After I take a seat he walks over and pulls out another chair and sit down. Then he says, "Well let's get this paperwork done. Then this apartment is all yours as long as you pay rent."

After we finish the paperwork and I pay him he gives me a key and says, "If you need anything I live right across the hall. Also, if you want Scarlet later I can come by and show you around the town?" He smiles so shyly and blushes.

I look at him with a big smile on my face and say, "I'd like that. See you later."

"Ok, I'll be back at 6:00 to pick you up." He says before exiting my apartment, leaving me all alone in my new apartment.
