I am Felix a 16 year old hunter, we have agreements with the supernatural creatures and we kill those who break those agreements, these agreements have been in place for many years and each side has developed a respect for each other that allows us to co-operate and not much argument and fighting occurs.

I watched him from my vantage point, I had been trying to find him for weeks and now here he was out hunting again. This particular vampire had been killing mortals on a massive scale for five years and hopefully tonight I can stop him from killing again.

He moved towards the closest mortal and I shot my arrow hitting him in the shoulder knocking him to the side. I jumped down off the top of the building and pull out a crossbow with a wooden stake loaded but he'd already run off "crap" I muttered to myself. he never attacked me when i did find him he juist ran so he knew what he was doing was wrong he wasnt doing it because he had tried to starve himself, he wasnt crazed from bloodlust he was just killing for the sake of killing, it could take forever to find him again.

Back at headquarters I got another lecture mainly about how my brilliant brother would have killed at least three rogues in the time it has taken me to find one let alone try and kill it. For my age im a great hunter only problem is my brother is better and im seen as the screw up of our family and I am expected to live up to my brother, the great thing is that its only my parents and teachers that see It that way. My brother is honestly a great guy and has not once lectured me about taking my time killing rogues, he just says that's my way of hunting. So im just nodding along adding a "sorry" and "I'll try harder next time" whenever its necessary even though im not even listening. i go to the dinning hall and sit with my brother and his friends, the hunters in my own year didnt like me very much. "i heard you got lectured again" Adrian said

"yep" i said looking down at my food

"what assignment did you get?"

"scratch" i say quietly

"you got scratch?!" he said shocked "but he's the hardest assignment, fully trained hunters cant even catch him. they are literally setting you up for failure"

"it's fine, i'll catch him" i say starting to shovel food in my mouth, i looked up to see donovan walking past, he was one of the hottest guys in my rank and probably only knew me as the younger brother of adrian marks. he looked over at me with his stunning green eyes and i opened my mouth and the spaghetti inside of it just fell back into the bowl with an ugly wet plop, he looked disgusted and turned away "that was very sexy little brother" adrian jokes

"shut up" i mutter and go back to eating.

i was dreaming when my phone went off, i woke in a blind panic and rolled off the bed trying to grab my phone to silence it and the knobby things on my bedside drawers stuck out and smacked me in the forehead "goddammit" i moaned as my phone silenced itself. i grabbed it off the bedside drawers and turned it on temporarily blinded by the bright light, i should really turned down the brightness on this damned thing, i thought to myself as i opened my messages. the message was from a vampire ally apparently scratch was still in the city hiding in underground tunnels they had access to. i jumped up off the floor and got into my hunting clothes quickly stumbling around my room grabbing some of my weapons and other various items. i ran out the door and down the corridor nearly running into my father, i didnt stop so i wouldnt have to talk to him.

i went to the abandoned warehouse the coven presided in, the leader was a cruel looking woman with hair as white as the sheets on my bed "what do you want young hunter?" she says with the same emotion as a house brick "i need to use your underground tunnels i have reason to believe there is a rogue hiding in them" I answer politely

"what evidence do you have that suggests such a thing?" she insisted, i paused and blinked for a moment

"i got a message saying that the rogue was seen in the tunnels and it was from one of your vampires" i answer stumbling slightly on my words

"who told this hunter that there was a rogue in our tunnels?" she called out so they could all hear. no one came forward or spoke up "it seems that your 'evidence' is false" i stood there startled, confused and frustrated. i didnt understand why they would message me false information especially when they knew id been looking for scratch for months. i spotted the entrance to tunnels out of the corner of my eye "you may leave now young hunter" she said tersely

i nod "of course" i said then suddenly made a dash for the entrance of the tunnels, i heard her screaming at them to close the entrance i slid as the door started the fall shut and my heart pumped harder as i realised it was falling too fast and it would crush me.

i was curled up in the fettel position holding my head as i heard the thump of the door and a cloud of dust flew up into the air i looked up at the door then sneezed loudly or maybe it was just the endless echoing that made it sound loud.
