Lunch is finally over, and the two go back to class. Ayano sits at her usual desk while Osano sits down on her right side. Suddenly, there's murmurs after they've been spotted walking back to class together.

"Look...Aishi-san and Najimi-san are finally walking to class again..."

"They got back together?"

"Did they even break up?"

"Were they even in a relationship?"

"I highly doubt it."

Ayano frowns.

Was everyone usually all up in her business without her knowing it?

Well, to be fair, she's popular.

At first, she joined the Martial Arts club along with the gorgeous and handsome leader, Budo Masuta, and they seemed to get along very well. That was the beginning of her "popularity". But eventually, she left the club. Budo was obviously upset, and so that left many wondering if the two broke up from a relationship that no one else knew about.

After leaving the Martial Arts club, she somehow managed to become a part of the delinquents. She was nothing like them. She never was a violent person...at least, everyone else thought she wasn't. Even after drifting apart from the group, Ayano still never lost the respect from the delinquents.

Ayano looks at Osano. He seems unfazed by all the obvious murmuring as well.

I miss Senpai... she sighs to herself at the thought of that traumatized expression on Taro's face.

After school, Osano and Ayano finally starts walking home together as Rin tags along.

Everything seems to be back to normal.

Osano goes to his house, which is right beside Ayano's.

"Don't you have a place to stay?" Ayano asks at Rin, who is sipping the last drops of her orange juice loudly.

"Nope, can I stay at your place?"

Osano overhears it just before he opens the gate. Suddenly, millions of question race in his head, but he decides to pretend he didn't hear it. "See you guys tomorrow." he then closes the gate.

"No," Ayano says firmly. "My brother will find it weird."

"And he doesn't find you weird?"

Ayano pouts as silence swirls between them. "...Fine. But if you can't make up an excuse when my brother asks, I'll kick you out."

They both come inside the house, a welcoming scent filling their nose.

"Aru?" Ayano calls, but there's no answer.

Rin places her hands on her hips, waiting for her to remember her own brother's schedule.

"Aru?"

"He's in the Cooking Club, you idiot," Rin finally says, giving up. "I think I might know more about your friends than you do."

"O-Oh...I never knew that..."

"Of course," Rin says and rolls her eyes. "I'm sure he'll be back soon."

The door knob starts to twist.

"—or maybe right now."

The boy quickly hops inside the house without even saying anything and within a few seconds, the door opens again and there's a familiar, older guy.

"Amao-kun?"

Her little brother looks up. "You're actually here?"

She feels a little bit offended, but understands why Aru would say such a thing.

"Ayano!" Amao explains and before she can react, he's already dashing dangerously towards her, attacking her with a hug and making her take a few steps back until her hips hit the counter. "I missed you," he whispers before letting go. "How've you been?"

"Good," she lies.

"We brought treats and sweets," Aru eagerly places them on the table before giving his sister a tight hug. "I actually made something for you today..." he blushes shyly before giving her a bag of cookies. "It's the first time I didn't burn them! I promised you that you'd be the first one I'd give my non-burnt cookies to!"

Ayano can't help but giggle. "Aw, thanks. They look delicious."

Aru quickly leaves to go to the washroom first before they can start eating.

"I'm happy you're here..." Amao says, breaking the silence. "He wants to be a patissiere when he grows up. Aru always made sweets for you...but he keeps telling me he ends up eating them by himself!" he laughs. "He's gotten a bit chubby from that."

Translation: Aru always makes sweets just for you but your pathetic ass couldn't look at him for one second but despite getting rejected by his only family, he never loses hope.

It was at that moment when Ayano truly realized how dumb she really was.

Taro blinded her.

But she wasn't gonna let anyone do that to her ever again.
