Third person POV
Maddison woke with a start, she rolled over and checked her phone, 3:28 AM. The uneasy feeling set in, as it does every night. Maddison always felt uneasy during this time, some may say it's because she's tired, or droggy after just waking up, but Maddison knows it's something else. Every night at 3:30 a shadow emerges from her closet and just stands, at the foot of her bed. Staring. At 3:31 it goes away, but it feels like a thousand years rather than a minute. Her doctor says that sleep paralysis is normal and more common than you would think , and can't actually hurt you, but that doesn't make it any less terrifying.
Maddison watched the number tick 3:29
She held her breath
She laid onto her back and held her eyes tightly shut she counted
1.....
......2....
...3...
...4..
Creeeaaak
She grabbed her phone 2:29 it's not supposed to come yet. She could feel her arms getting stiff as rock. She tried to roll over to face the closet but couldn't move, she thought
Here comes the fun part
She watched her phone drop out of her hands onto the carpet below, she felt shivers up her spine as the thing emerged from the closet.
She could barely see it, out of the corner of her eye. Normally it exited her closet and Just watched her from across the bed, but something felt different tonight. She held her breath as the figure walked past the foot of the bed and to the wall. Her eyes welled up with tears as it climbed up the wall and perched itself on the ceiling, Directly above her. It's hand reached down and grabbed a lock of her long brown hair. The fingers were like dark sticks, rather than hands. She wanted to scream for help, but couldn't open her mouth. All that came out was a sheepish whimper
She was counting the whole time in her head
....57
....58..
59.... 60....
As always the figure faded into mist, the strand of hair falling back onto the bed, she sat up. She just held hand over her mouth, she cried silently. She was careful not to make a sound, she didn't wasn't to wake up her mom, she had to stay silent.
She couldn't keep her mind from racing,
What was that..? It's never gotten that close in almost two years... why now? What's changed today?? Why did it stick to the ceiling? Why did it come early?
Her head swirled with questions. She turned her head and saw that she wasn't alone in her room.....
there was a small girl, maybe eleven or twelve, covered in blood. Sitting at the foot of her bed, staring back at her.......
