Chapter 44: Sorting out your Feelings

After demonstrating, you made the string disappear.

"That's so cool" he reacted.

"Anyways, where's your parents?" you asked him and suddenly, his excitement faded and his face is filled with sadness.

'Did I touch something fragile?' you thought making the wrong decision to touch this kind of subject but how could you know also if you just met this kid today.

"Sorry if I made yourself uncomfortable" you apologized immediately.

"It's alright miss. You don't know anything so" he said.

You tap the side of the bench you are sitting to tell him to sit beside you.

He sat down looking at his robot toy.

"Hmmm.." you are thinking of what you should say to a kid but nothing is coming out of your mind.

"Miss what are you struggling right now?" The kid looked at you and asked.

"I was struggling of how I can get some new ideas and there are so many things to mention but..." the only thing that crossed your mind right now is about your feelings to Gray.

You think that the feelings you are harbouring for him is only admiration but when you are with him, your heart started to pump like crazy and your face always heat up because you can't look straight back at him.

It's complicated to understand what really love is especially if this is your first time.

"Is it about love?" your face started to blush when he said those words.

"How did you..."

"Well it's common for girls to struggle much about love. So love..." he was thinking about it.

"Can you share anything about it?" he was pretty intrigued to your love life.

"Uhmm...I don't really know if I should share this to a kid but" you hesitated for a bit but told him in the end what you really felt inside.

"When I'm with him my heart always go bathump, I don't really know how to explain this" you are embarrassed because you are consulting your love problems to a kid that you had just met.

"I really like his smile too even if he rarely smiled" you said playing with your hands to cover up your embarrassment "But he hates mine though" you laughed because you remembered his pissed reaction everytime you smiled at him.

"Why won't you confess" the kid gave you a surprised attack by saying the word confession.

"If you confess then it surely be a happy ending, right?" he said and you shook your head telling him it's nothing like that.

"I don't really think he has feelings for me" you said to him thinking of negative thoughts.

"But if you don't do anything then how could you confirm his feelings towards you" he said.

The more he's talking, the more you are thinking about how much this kid know about a lot of things or is it just you who can't figure out what you really wanted to do with your feelings.

"I don't think I have strength to say what I truly feel" you said this because you are also afraid that after confessing, it may light another fire again and Juvia will eventually get mad again.

You should fight your feelings but you really don't think this is a good time for that.

"Look! Cotton candy" suddenly the kid shouted and pointed out the vendor selling cotton candy.

He ran towards at that vendor and started asking if it will be alright to ask to give him one.

"You need to buy it if you want one" Vendor said.

You get your money from your pocket and give it to the vendor.

"Pick whatever you like" you smiled at the kid and he brightly smiled back at you.

He chose the blue color one and you also bought a cotton candy for yourself.

"Thanks miss" he said while eating his cotton candy.

"No I should thank you" you said and pat his head.

"Where do you live? I should escort you until you finally got home so" you said while also eating your cotton candy.

"I live on the nearby orphanage" he said pointing the side where the orphanage is located.

"Then let's go" you said, grabbed his hands to hold hands with him and was about to walk towards to the place he was pointing out when you saw Gray appeared in front you.

"It's rare for you to go outside alone" he said and looked at the kid you are holding hands with.

Everything you talked about earlier flashbacked and you started getting nervous around him.

It looks like the kid figured out what's happening and offered that he would go back home alone.

"Wait... I should..." the kid stopped and whispered something to you.

"You should settle things on your own" he said and smiled "I've lots of fun today miss" he said, waving a goodbye and left you with Gray.

"What does he mean?!" you whispered to yourself.

"Do you said something?" You came back in reality and faced Gray who is pretty confused to what's happening right now.

"What should I do? Is this the right time to confess?' your mind is full of thoughts that made you conscious all over again.

"Uhh Gray!" you shouted his name without knowing your voice is too loud.

"Are you mad?" He's getting to get pissed.

"Ahh..." 'Give him some reason (y/n)' you are talking to your consciousness.

"What will you do if someone close to you confessed" and your tongue finally slipped the words that your mind is mentioning earlier.

'Is this the end of me' you thought as you waited him to respond to your question.
