They've been on the road for a while now. Maybe a few weeks. Maybe a month. Either way, it was a very awkward situation.
After Lewis made Arthur completely trash his van and almost killed him, Arthur tried his hardest to keep himself busy. He tended to stay away from the hostile ghost and refused to take proper care of himself. His anxiety and depression kept him from leaving the garage where he vainly tried to fix his scrap pile of a van. It had been a week and he had miraculously made plenty of progress. However, his success came at the cost of his sleep, food, and other necessities. He would do his business in a bucket and planned on burning it at a later date. Vivi saw how unhealthy Arthur was acting and knew she had to do something. His fear of the ghost boy made him physically unable to function like a proper human. Something must be done to fix this.
So, when Arthur finally managed to salvage his entire van and return it to its former glory, Vivi kicked the two boys out of the house and told them not to return until they made up. Ridiculous as it was, Lewis was incredibly sorry for his rash actions. However, he struggles with finding a way to tell Arthur how he feels. Arthur on the other hand is utterly terrified of him. But neither date to defy the terrorizing blue girl. And they went along with it.
They had been on the road ever since, not really knowing where they're going. The only breaks they take from the wide open roads is to get gas and snacks. They don't really speak to each other as the scenery speeds by. The two boys take turns driving the vehicle. Arthur during sunlight, Lewis in the dark of the night. As Lewis is a ghost, he does not have the same needs as a living human, like Arthur. Even still, he tries to remember what humans need to survive and attempts to produce such needs. However, one important need of Arthur's seems to have slipped his mind.
As the days went on, Arthur would drive less and less, making Lewis take control of the vehicle. Lewis didn't really understand why he didn't want to drive as much, but obliged nevertheless. It wasn't really a problem considering the road they were on had little to no other cars on it. Just a vast, wide emptiness. If Arthur remembers correctly, it's not on any modern maps. But that's not the point right now. What IS the point is that Arthur needs to pee, really really badly. The problem is that he can't find the voice to tell Lewis of his predicament. His fear and anxiety keep him from speaking his mind. But this, this is torture.
Since the road is old and forgotten, there's cracks and bumps littering the entire stretch of it. And Arthur can feel every single bump and jolt. He tries to play it off, but he couldn't help but whine and shift in his seat. And of course, he can feel whenever Lewis looks over to check on him. It's humiliating. Every single time, Arthur can't help but wonder if Lewis is starting to do this on purpose. Maybe it's meant to be a sort of punishment. Either way, there's no way he's gonna let him keep teasi-aah~!
Arthur instantly bit his tongue and lip and shoved his hands over his mouth. A painfully hot blush spreads across his face as he crosses his legs and screwed his eyes shut. "A-Are you... doing alright there?" Despite Lewis sitting right next to him, Arthur couldn't really hear him all too well. Perhaps it had to do with the incessant ringing in his ears due to the amount of blood rushing there. It doesn't matter, he cant exactly answer him in this condition, all he can do is feebly nod.
Lewis dropped it after that. He didn't ask him anything more, to Arthur's relief. And the ride continued on in silence. That is, until they hit a particularly not-do-subtle pothole. The jostling if the car came as a shock to Arthur as it swayed him, making him falter in his concentration. He gasped as he felt a but of heat seep out of him down below. In a panic, he shoves his hands down and squeezes his legs painfully close to gather.
"Seriously Arthur, you're looking a little red. You sure you're not running a fever?" Damn him. Damn him and his beautiful voice. Arthur turned away from him as he somehow managed to mutter a "m'fine." Of course, by now Lewis knew something wasn't right. But he just couldn't quite figure out what it was. With finality, Lewis moves the vehicle to the edge of the road before stopping it and putting on the brakes. He turns to Arthur with determination, but falters when he sees the tears sliding down his face.
Oh no. Did he do something wrong? Did he upset him? Lewis knows that he was way too harsh on Arthur for something that wasn't even his fault. But he just can't find the strength to apologize. Curse his retarded pride. One's not the time to back down. Vivi made them go on this trip to make up, and that's exactly what he's gonna do. Even if it did take a few days.
"Hey uh... Arthur... I-I..." He stutters and struggles, but Arthur still doesn't look at him. With a frustrated groan, Lewis crawls from his seat onto Arthur's, pulling the lever on the side to make it lean back. Arthur let's out a startled yelp before shutting his eyes and biting his lip. Lewis leans above him, hands firmly placed on either side of Arthur's head. "Arthur..." His voice tumbled deeply in his chest, making more tears slip down his face. "Look at me." Arthur shakes his head vigorously.
Lewis lowers his body flush against the smaller males, pressing his groin to the other's. Shiiiit. "Lewis n-no! D-don't~!" Shocked from the sudden outburst, Lewis is frozen in place as Arthur squirms desperately in his grasp. "Arthur i need you to listen to me." Arthur sniffles and gasps. "I-I can't!" His voice is high-pitched and strained. He's barely able to hold himself together, crying pitifully. "Why not?" Lewis softens his voice as to try and not frighten this poor broken man. "Guh. Hnnn~!" Unable to make coherent speech, Arthur resorts to strange painful noises.
Lewis stays still for a moment, trying to process it all. Then it hit him. His face flares as he freezes on the spot. Oh my god. Arthur... he's alive... that means he has... human needs... like...! Lewis attempts to move off him but that only causes Arthur to gasp and cry out. In a tight spot, Lewis ceases his movement. This is beyond embarrassing. Two bodies squished together, one feeling foolish and idiotic while the other cries in shame. Lewis stumbles in his mind for a bit and before he knew it, words were tumbling out of his mouth. "I'm sorry bud, I didn't mean to put you into this kind of situation, but you gotta understand that I can't read minds Art. I want to help you. I want to make things up to you. I want to fix what I broke. And Artie... I'm sorry..."
Arthur couldn't stop himself from sobbing out loud at that very moment. Through tears and hiccups, he wrapped his arms around the larger male and failed to speak proper English. Lewis gently pats his head and whispers soothing words into his ear. After some time, Arthur manages to calm down. He squirms a bit in discomfort and struggles to speak yet. "Hmm? What is it?" Lewis's voice is calm and accepting. "I'm sorry..." Confusion blossomed inside of Lewis. Why was he apologizing? This was all kind of his fault, not Arthur's. Then, as he shifted slightly, he realized why he apologized. "I-i didn't m-mean t-to..."
Lewis goes into a panic trying to calm down the crying man. At least he wasn't upset at him. As strange as this whole situation was, at least it was a step in the right direction...
