"Hey Maxie, did you hear about the teacher getting fired??"

"Yeah, that's really weird, I heard that somebody blackmailed the principal to do it."

"What, really?"

"Yeah, my mom told me. She overheard the principal talking to someone about the teacher that was fired."

 "Hmmmm, weird."

Sammy said as she wrote on her pen and notepad while still staring at Maxie.

"Are you seriously taking notes? Why not just memorize it."

Sammy slowly put her notes in her pocket and looked at Maxie with a serious face. Maxie rolled her eyes.

"You gonna investigate like last time? Don't you remember what happened when you tried to sneak into the men's bathroom and you saw-"

Sammy covered Maxie's mouth.

"Okay okay okay! Enough. I don't want to be reminded of it."

Maxie smiled mischeviously.

"I'm not gonna investigate. I'm just taking notes just for fun, alright? You know it's been my dream to become a detective."

"Of course it is. I'm sure you can though"

Maxie swings her backpack over her shoulder.

"Anyways, imma' head home. See ya."

Sammy waves goodbye to Maxie. As Maxie goes out of view, Sammy immediately goes through her notes.

"Okay so.. Mr. Halpert had gone to the principal's office at four.. but that would make.. Ugh! This doesn't make any sense!"

Sammy throws her notes up in the air.

"Um, you're gonna have to pick that up."

The janitor, Mrs. Jannet, put her hand on her hip while holding a broom in the other.

"Oh yeah, sorry. I'm just.. stressed about something."

Sammy quickly picks up all her papers and stuff it in her backpack.

Mrs. Jannet was always that one woman who complained about her life all the time and always took out her anger towards the students. Especially Sammy since she had caused a lot of havoc with her "detective work" resulting in a huge mess.

Mrs. Jannet groans and continues cleaning up trash. Sammy gets up and walks out of school. She arrives at home and kicks her leg up to throw off her shoes.

"Hey mom! I have more notes about that case!"

She spots her mom in the kitchen on her phone.

"For the last time Sammy, it's just a rumour. It's not a case. You should give up that detective work anyways, your not gonna get a real job being that. Be a.. a engineer or something useful."

Sammy's smile turns into a frown. She slowly goes up the stairs with a solemn look. She drops down on the bed and groans. Sammy lazily grabs the notes out of her bag and holds it up in front of her face.

"These notes lead to nowhere and I've done so many investigations.."

She mumbles to herself.

"Maybe Mom was right.. maybe it's just a rumor."

Sammy tosses the notes under her bed.

3 years later..

"Yo, give me some of your crackers. I'm hungry."

Sammy grabs her crackers and holds it in her hand tightly.
