Eden's Dress⬆
|Icarus|
"I'm not quite sure why I have to attend this ball. I am not even Human"
I grumbled as I fixed my tie.
"Oh hush, you big man child.
You're going and that's final"
Edmund scolded from the other side of the room.
With a huff and low grunt I admitted defeat.
Yeah okay, he can force me to go but that doesn't mean I have to like it.
"Be on your best behaviour Icarus, And you might even meet someone you enjoy"
He said giving me a charming smile which only further agitated me.
I didn't respond but walked out of the door and to the awaiting carriage in front of the house.
And expectedly, Edmund was right on my tail.
With another huff of annoyance
I turned my head so I was looking out of the window and not at the smug smirk on Edmund's face.
The whole ride Edmund teased and annoyed me.
If it weren't for us just arriving I think I might have thrown myself out of the carriage.
As I stepped out of the carriage I was greeted by a number of people. Most were women but some there were some men as well. Although I wasn't very interested in them.
I just wanted to get this night done with the least amount of Interaction as possible.
"Time flies when you're having fun Icarus, remember that"
Edmund gave me a nudge to the shoulder before walking into the busy ballroom.
Ignoring the men and women surrounding me I walked into the ballroom as well.
There were many people.
Some were dressed in the finest of fabric while others went for a more casual look.
I looked around the room but was disappointed.
Not to say that every one here was ugly, it's just that they weren't appealing to my eyes.
I looked around the enormous ballroom once more, and this time my breath was taken away.
I was staring at a woman, or should I say girl.
She looked young, no more older than the age of 18.
She had dark, carmel colored skin that glowed under the lights of the ballroom.
She wore a bright yellow dress that hugged her hips snugly and stopped just above her ankles.
As she walked her long curly hair bounced up and down.
The girl I was staring at was utterly beautiful.
The most beautiful creature I have ever layed my eyes on.
As her eyes roamed around the room they stopped and met my gaze. She had a look on her face that I couldn't quite decipher.
It was like a mixture of Shock, embarrassment and curiosity all in one.
After the brief moment of our eyes connecting she quickly looked away, her tanned cheeks darkening with a rosy blush.
My breath was taken away once again as I gazed at the bushing girl from afar.
I had a feeling in my chest.
It was a feeling I was sure I would never feel, but here I was feeling it. There was only one word to describe what I was feeling.
Mate
Before I knew it I was making my way over to the girl.
She was talking with another person.
I lightly place my hand on her waist gaining her attention.
As our eyes met that rosy blush seemed to return.
"May I steel her away from you, sir" I asked politely to the man standing in front of her.
"Of course"
He said then left without another word.
"Pardon my manners"
I removed the arm that was around her waist and took a step back.
How could I just go and put my arm around a woman's waist when I hadn't done so much as introduced myself.
"My name is Icarus. I come from the Greek Island of Crete"
I grabbed her small hand in mine and brought it to my lips to plant a delicate kiss against her palm.
"And what might your name be miss?"
"Eden"
She spoke, her soft melodic warming my heart.
I smiled and let go of her hand.
"A beautiful name for a beautiful woman"
She smiled softly at my compliment, two little dimples forming on her cheeks.
God, her smile was almost too much to bear.
Just then I heard the grand clock strike it song.
It was now 12 O'clock and that meant the party was coming to an end.
"My lady I hate to say this but I must be leaving."
She nodded letting her gaze fall to the floor.
Which was very cute.
"Worry not, I will see you again.
I am sure of it"
I planted one more kiss on her hand before making my way over to Edmund.
He was watching my interaction with the girl, Eden, and I know he would have many questions.
"Aw, It seems my little Robin is growing up"
He teased pinching my cheeks.
"Shut up, and don't call me that!"
I swatted his hands away from face and walked pass him to our carriage.
God, I hated it when he called me Robin. He did it to remind me of my mistake and it made me feel like an ignorant child.
The ride back home was a quiet one. Edmund tried to speak to me but Ignored him.
When I layed down for bed I couldn't sleep at all.
I couldn't get the thought of my mate, Eden, to leave my mind.
Her dark skin, Her long black curls that coiled together, The hourglass figure her body had.
I just couldn't seem to get her off my mind.
I was silently wishing that we would meet again, and I had a feeling that wish would be fulfilled.
