Middle of Semester
Fall break is over and a new nine weeks at school is starting. First, I have social studies with Mrs. Ross. She's a funny teacher and I like the way she teaches. She's my homebase teacher so I grab all of my things for the day out of my locker and walk by myself to her room. I sit down, sweating from the hot and b.o. filled hallway. Kids are yelling, because Mrs. Ross is at the lockers making sure everyone gets to class on time, no one notices. "What a faggot." one kid says. "What did you say?" Another kid adds, just so they can say it again. "I said he's a faggot!" He yells across the room. "Ohhh, you said faggot." I'm not joking, this happened. Middle school is crazy. Nothing much happens first period, just learning about the battles of the revolutionary war and important people in the war.
Next period is math with Mrs. Byden. She's probably my favorite teacher. She's the youngest, about 37 years old I believe, and she's the only math teacher that has really helped me understand the units. We learn about slope and linear equations, review the last nine weeks because we've slept since the last lesson. We leave for lunch at 10:12, the time I would have been anticipating all day. I wait for a couple of my friends to come out of their classes so we can walk to the cafeteria together. Michelle is the first to make it to where I'm waiting, she's in algebra 1. Millie, Mary, Kaylynn, and Logan always make it out of the English class last. We go down the empty stairwell, laughing and complaining about our classes. We walk outside to get to the cafeteria, it gets colder everyday and my jacket isn't giving me as much protection from the cold as I would like.
We make it to the cafeteria. Mary and Kaylynn go to their own tables. Michelle and Logan go and get school lunch while everybody else, including myself, sit down and start to dig in. I packed myself a big bottle of lemon water and some pistachios. This weight's not going to lose itself. Avery (my twin sister), Alexa, Ruby, Maria, and Kiara sit down after me. They're all from another hall across from mine. Alexa has been my friend for a year but she's been meaner to me more recently. Ruby knows all the tea in school. She's seen every nude that has been sent and she has connections so she learns things fast, plus her mom and my dad work together so that makes us better friends I guess. Kiara is a lying skank that just wants attention. Once, She claimed to not know what nudes are, what porn is, and what masturbating is. The next week, it comes out that she sent nudes to a boy named Jake and he showed it to the whole football team(that actually happened too). We all made a big deal about it but, sadly, everyone ended up forgetting about it the next week. Over all of that, she pretends to be Anorexic and Bulimic for even more attention. I, for one, know one should never say they have a mental disorder when people can report it to the guidance counselor and then it turns out one is really fine and everyone else misconstrued the real story(that hasn't happened, yet) but I'll get into that more later.
She starts to bicker about how she feels like she's having a bad day and she has worse problems than everyone else. She talks about how her little sister is so annoying but I know her sister and she's much better than Kiara. Even if her little sister was actually annoying, I wouldn't be surprised if we found out she got the character trait from her older sister. Lunch is over and we walk back out into the cold air. We all return to our classes and hope the day goes by as fast as possible.
After math, I go to English. The teacher's name is Dr. Ember. We all call her Dr. Embryo because she says she has baby ears. She isn't too strict but she can be mean sometimes. Her classes are all the same. Monday: rotations, notes, exit ticket. Tuesday: mini essay, rotations, more notes, exit ticket. Wednesday: another mini essay, last rotations, even more notes, another exit ticket. Thursday: outlining for Friday's big essay that takes place every week, another exit. Friday: big essay, last exit ticket. It seems like a lot but it's pretty bearable and she's nice most of the time. We start with the reading of our primary and supplemental articles. We go to related arts. I have theatre and then choir. Theatre is new so nothing really happens except for the passing out of syllabi. I wait for the majority of my friends to exit Spanish and we walk to choir. Lucky for me, I sit behind Kiara. I have to listen to her bitching the whole class because she doesn't know how to use her complementary filter, or it broke. She asks Maria about a personal subject, her ex boyfriend is in a mental hospital and she thinks it's all her fault. It makes Maria uncomfortable and she expresses this feeling by telling Kiara to fuck off. We go back to our other classes and finish up the day. Another one in the books.
Thanks for reading! This was more of an introduction so, you, the reader can kinda see how my schedule works. I know this chapter ends pretty quickly, but rn it's vv late and I need to sleep. I hope you continue to read. Bye bye :]
