Visitation of the Ghost // Book 1

- Prologue -

March 22nd, 2005

A gasp of air and a strained yell rings in my ears, my eyes bleary from being  passed out. There's blood, so much blood, mainly on me. The car is torn and bent in ways I didn't even know were possible but the worst part is what I see. People have gathered around my side, trying to resuscitate me. I don't understand why, I'm here and I'm alive. I feel fine.

Their hands go straight through me, like I'm water. I stand to see my lifeless body all battered and bruised before me, and through tears in my eyes I manage to step back through my husband who didn't seem to have any major injuries. I had taken the most damage. Now that I look closer I was thrown completely out of the car.

By now they have stopped and I'm being put in a body bag. I feel like my stomach is going to spill out through my skin and my heart is going to implode. It's crazy seeing yourself die, but its another to see your loved one's heart break. I sink down to my knees, we had just gotten engaged. I had so much to live for, so much to give.

It's all over now, but I don't feel so alone. In the distance a shadow walks towards me, its mysterious and dark and my body is screaming danger but I can't seem to move my legs. It's weapon swinging back and forth as it saunters forwards pulls me out of my daze and I finally start running. The world seems to be spinning but I can't stop running, everything's changing so quickly and I'm so confused but I can't stop running.

The end is so mysterious to living, breathing people. But it has now become my life and its not mysterious. It is a game and we are the prey.
