Chapter Fourty Five: New Boyfriend

Justin's POV

Someone was shaking me awake and I woke up with a shock. Kay was looking at me. She was sitting on the coffee table. ''What happened to me,'' I asked.

Kay giggles. Have I seen this before? ''You fell asleep. You were sick when I came over here. You sure okay?''

''What,'' I asked. I don't understand what is going on.

She laughs. ''You became my new mentor today. You seem upset so I came over to check on you but you were sick. So, I took care of you but you went to sleep on me. You look cute when you sleep,'' she said.

Was all that a dream? Kay wasn't my girlfriend and I didn't have to rescue her from her some guy named Ken.

''I got a date to go on,'' Kay said. ''You want to come and check you when I get back or no?''

''Can tell you something,'' I wondered. I need to know if what I dreamt was just a dream. I was panicking in the inside.

''What is it about,'' she asked.

''About the dream I had,'' I told her. I sat up.

''Sure. Go ahead.''

''Okay. I had this dream that I was dating and having great sex with this girl. She was awesome. We had problems but it was okay. She had my baby and we had problems afterwards. I wish it was real,'' I mumbled.

Kay rolls her eyes and laughs at me. ''Who's the girl?''

''It was you, Kay.''

All expression on her face was blank. ''Oh. Wow.''

''I know you don't feel the same,'' I said with frown. This is embarassing.

''I do, Justin... but I'm with Trevor. I love him. I've been waiting for so long for him to love me back the same. I want to take this chance with him.''

My phone began to rang and I woke-up again. I was panting. I was in my room in the dark. It was Kevin, Kay's brother.

What kind of dream was that?

''Hello,'' I said in a husky tone.

''Kay's in trouble. She is went that Ken guy and he hurt her. She needs help. She is frighten and she is crying. I heard the crying in the back. Go help her,'' he said in a rant.

I got out the bed and put my shoes on. My phone was between my ear and neck. ''I hope she is okay. I'm on the way to her house.''

Kay's POV

Ken turned the air up all the way. I was freezing and the cover was working. He knows my weakness. Cold air makes a Sickle Cell patient's joints hurt so I can barely move. I tried rocking the baby but it hurts to move. Since, I have the disease, the baby does too.

The baby lips were turning blue and he was shivering. I can't do anything to help but hold him, attempt to keep him warm. I don't what is going to happen when I try to leave out of this room, so I locked in here.

I thought Kevin called Justin. Justin probably mad at me and not going to save me.

Jake's hand went over my pinkie finger. He was giving me hope.

I hope we survive.

Jake's hand relax and he stop moving. He stop shivering. I put my hand on his chest and there no heartbeat. Jake was gone. I called the ambulance and told them that my baby was gone. Ken Berigard killed him. He may kill in the process.
